Front passenger door handle
Hate to say it but with posts like that I doubt very much you'll get any more help on here should you need it! I've been here a long time and frequent multiple times every day but didn't see your post either! we're not psychic so if we don't see a post then apologies for not helping but no need to get stroppy!

Zoe ZE50 First Impressions
Did they not test two versions, one with and one without the extra kit? I'm pretty sure they did with the Suzuki Swift as it has two ratings, with and without. Having said that they still missed a load of kit mine has...

ACC and Crystal face problem
Not sure people are talki g about using them in those conditions George... I don't... But the warnings and bongs still happen and stay annoyingly regardless which is distracting in those conditions

ACC and Crystal face problem
It's happened on both our Kodiaq and Swift too, each of which have a sensor in the front grille

VM Gamma Cassette player compatibility with Fabia 6 CD changer?
From memory the VW Gamma is made by Blaupunkt and the earlier Skoda CD changers by Grundig... and my recollection is that they don't talk to each other.

Hifi of Yesteryear vs Today's effort!
Fixed it!! 😀 Finally got round to taking it apart and noticed that the ribbon cable to the laser head seemed to be kinked and felt cracked. So I took it off, straightened it out and used a bit of sellotape to strengthen it and hold it together. Reassembled it all and it now works perfectly. New ribbon cable on order though just in case.

Fabia Mk1 - Window Glass Attachment Clamp
No need for new carriers - just the plastic runners - they're on ebay for a few quid...

Fabia Mk1 - Window Glass Attachment Clamp
Was just going to say the same - been there done that! I'd be getting the runners changed before it all gets too late and the whole mechanism gets knarled up.

Sticking door handle
yep noted and agreed! Just some people p[refer to sort it themselves in one go rather than having to visit the dealer multiple times and / or get fobbed off when it works perfectly when takenin 😉

Sticking door handle
We have this occasionally on our Kodiaq on the drivers door but a quick knock of the handle usually cures it. I seem to recall seeing a 'fix' on a Seat forum that involved removal of the lock 'barrel' (one screw to undo in the door jamb) and minor filing of two ridges on it on the side where it meets the part of the handle that pulls out... the theory being that the manufacturing tolerances meant that these 'ridges' were catching and preventing the moving part of the handle moving.

New Scout FL - some mod questions, grill, 18in wheels etc
The 4x4 non scout had raised suspension that was the same as the scout. The bigger wheels and tyres then made the extra difference. The pre fl 4x4 and scout both had BMM TDis rated at 140bhp with a dpf. The fl can have either that or the CR 140, again with a dpf. If it's the BMM it'll map to 185bhp on Stage 1 with the dpf removed. As and when you get it get the haldex oil and filter changed and get the propshaft rubber doughnuts checked

Fabia Mk1 - Window Glass Attachment Clamp
Good call on taking the speaker off

Fabia Mk1 - Window Glass Attachment Clamp
Can you use one of those flexible grabbers to get at it via the grommet hole? I have one that has got me out of lots of similar issues in the past...

Diagnostics.
Looking at the specs for Toad it is only for engine and transmission diagnostics and changes, so won't do what you need for the tow bar fitting as it won't access the relevant modules.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
If you think the wait for a kodiaq is bad just be glad you didn't order a land cruiser... Apparently any ordered now will take four years to deliver!!!

WARNING Remote locking vulnerable to attack
Just a thought - I wonder if that 'faraday' material is readily available via well known shopping sites... if so it might be useful for lining drawers that people keep keys in etc. to provide an additional layer of protection...

WARNING Remote locking vulnerable to attack
I have kessy on the swift but my keys go in a faraday bag when at home that's been tested standing next to the car. Unfortunately the only flying the ointment is my wife - who never seems to remember to put the keys back in it, so I always have to go hunting through her handbag and pockets to find the key and sort it!

So Much for buying British !
Indeed -interestingly your images suggest the issue isn't as bad as it was with my Dunlop SP-01's where I could see the carcass / cords! I've been tending to purchase Michelin or Vredestein recently and have had no such problems.

So Much for buying British !
Not an unusual situation - I've had the same cracking issue with Dunlop previously and heard similar stories on Bridgestones - so haven't bought either make since.

New Landrover Defender are you up for one?
Just noticed this morning on the school run that there's a house not far from us with a new LWB Defender and a new Lexus RX on the drive - combined value probably more than the house they are in front of!

Given up: Water in drivers footwell
We had that issue on our old 2007 MkII Octavia and on the 2001 rear hatch glass on the Fabia Estate we had before it - so it wouldn't surprise me if a MkI coudl suffer similarly!
