  2. Volvo 740 Riley 1.5 MG Magnet Done loads of miles in those cars with no problems. I did like my Bond too. No reverse gear, drove it on a motorcycle licence. Wish I still had it. Those were the days.
  3. Yes oldstan, dash cams are a great idea. We have both front & rear cams. Wired my rear one into the wiper + circuit, so only comes on when ignition on. Got a couple of Viofo's. 55andlosingit Best of luck with your claim.
  4. Try this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RD9V6wPD4k
  5. Its under the roof lining, on the top right of roof trim as you open the tailgate. You will need to remove side trims and lower roof lining on the right. Well that's where my on is. I haven't removed mine as my buzzer is working fine.
  6. Could be the Buzzer not working. Somewhere in the rear of the car in the roof. (I think anyway) On the top right of roof trim as you open the tailgate.
  7. My sentiments exactly Keith. I have had a couple of differences with the service adviser at my local dealers, and non of it over the past years that I've had Skoda's has been good. From a doggy Fabia monte carlo to two Yeti's. I now will not use them, as anyway I do all my service work out of warranty. The last straw was over the Radio/Satnav problems. They just didn't want to know. Nor did Skoda. We have been thinking of a new car for almost three years now, as our mileage had dropped right off. I was slightly tempted by the new 2024 T-Cross, but there is such a bad cloud over VW in general, it looks like now another make.
  8. Just for now Keith, why not fit a new Touch Screen Digitizer For VW Skoda MIB2 MIB STD2 Radio Multimedia Navi 6.5'' eBay item number:384454830977 £23.40 With radio removed it's just an easy 30 minute job. At least you will get a few months more out of it.
  9. How is it going pete_VRS??
  10. In My opinion, from new five years should be ok. Thereafter, every three years. The gas inside the system also acts as a lubricant. So keeping the system charged and checked is advisable. If you use the A/c a lot, then maybe every two years. Find an independent air con service agent, should be cheaper than dealers. This is my opinion, others may have their way of doing things. PS. Don't forget the cabin filter. I check my own every year, replace a necessary.
  11. Jack one wheel up at a time. Just hand spin the wheel and watch the tyre tread edges as it goes round. What you will be looking for is a distortion in the tyre. Highly likely. If you run the car at about 10-15mph coasting in neutral, does it do it then?
  12. What's the difference between a second hand one and a new one price wise??.
  13. So you have stuck with VW? Well for some reason I was looking at the new 2023 VW T-Cross. I've not been too enamoured with VW/Skoda lately, what with a dealer who's not on the side of the customer, and a fuel gauge that's started to play up again after a new one was fitted 2.5 years ago under warranty. So I don't hold out much hope in getting it replaced again.... Sadly I really can't find another Yeti. Had two of them and would have another one. So the hunt goes on for a new Yeti like vehicle.
  14. Can I advertise a Motorbike for sale???
  15. So tell us, what's your new form of transport??
  16. romin, has your Yeti had the diesel gate mods done to it?
  17. The fact that if you have a flat battery, the handbrake won't even come off. Ps. Later type cars will not let you use the -negative terminal for jump starting. You need to go to a part of the engine or chassis.
  18. Now in its sixth annual instalment, the CarGurus Manual Handbrake Report reveals less than one-in-10 new car models on sale are equipped with a manual handbrake. Additionally, consumers have 61% fewer models to choose from compared to just four years ago. Last year, CarGurus, found Abarth was the sole mainstream manufacturer to offer a manual handbrake on all its models; but, following the recent launch of the Abarth 500e, there is now no major brand that offers a manual handbrake across its entire range. Since the first instalment of the CarGurus Manual Handbrake Report in 2018, the percentage of models on sale with a manual handbrake has dropped from 37% to 9%. CarGurus UK Editorial Director, said: “It seems the writing’s on the wall for the fabled manual handbrake as the percentage of new cars equipped with one dips into single figures. Is this a good step in the right direction? Personally, I prefer a manual brake. Less to go wrong and cheaper. Those of you who have an electric handbrake could let us know.
  19. I'm not surprised. Everything will be hanging lose. Not a normal position at all. Is this a two post ramp. In which case, this will be highly dangerous.

Also lift wiper arm & blade up away from screen and lubricate the spring & pivot part of the inner part of the arm. Work it up & down a couple of times. WD40 good for that.
  21. Fabcol, another heads up for A-Z Motor Factors, used them a few times now. Just ordered some Bosch f&r discs & pads for a BMW320D which I will be fitting next week. Good price too. Just a note, when fitting new discs, a small fingerful of copper grease round the flange helps with removal at a later time. A smear of Mintex Ceratec lub round the Pad ears and where they slide, helps stop the rusting & lubs to.
  22. Dale, Whilst sitting inside with the door closed, I have at least 5mm clearance between the door trim card & the rubber seal. Has your door trim card been damaged at all? Or maybe it needs a little tweak, by pushing the trim card forward with door open. Ps. Are you sure the inner rubber is fitted correctly?

On my Yeti, still with original brake discs & pads, has Bosch stamped all over them.🙂 As far as longevity goes, it's all down to the driver.
