  1. A Motorbike.🤣 🏍️ Just sold my Triumph Tiger Sport 1050 had it for four years. Now just left with a Suzuki VStrom. You??
  2. That's still better than just being Intolerant!! PS. Also in Devon. Biker as well.🏍️
  3. Just a heads up for EV tyres & tyre pressures. 🙂 The correct tyres for electric vehicles - Professional Motor Mechanic (pmmonline.co.uk)
  4. Have you downloaded the latest map off the Skoda website? (just a thought) Update portal (skoda-auto.com) I have just downloaded the latest map onto computer, then I transfer to the SD card. (or am I missing something?)
  5. Put another nut on top of the one shown. Then tighten the two nuts together, that should stop it coming off. Alternatively, replace original nut with a Nyloc nut. (as shown below)
  6. You may find its just a matter of lubrication. May have to remove door panel, trace the rod & lub the linkage well.
  7. Just drive the car as normal, just because you have 20+ more HP you don't need to use it. Think of it as a MPG update. "Also, is there any connection between the throttle and the emission update to the ECU they did?" More than likely. I'd be tempted to fit a new fuel filter in, just in case they didn't. If that don't help, go for the remap.
  8. Is it the original battery? If so, its well past its sell by date. So, could well be new battery time.😦 Have you got a volt meter.?
  9. Nimit, If you are 100% assured the Fuel filter has been changed, then the re-map is the way to go.
  10. Lico, sometimes the connector plug that pushes onto the bulb can loose its grip on the terminals & then gets hot. Suggest you remove the plug & fit a new one.
  11. And, have you notified Skoda of all the goings on. I would think Skoda at least should have your car inspected, as obviously it sounds like you are still not happy with the repairs that have been done. What about the leasing company? Is there a possibility that you can reject the car???
  12. That normally would be your starting point. 3.5Lt After draining properly with a hot/warm engine, refit drain bung & fill. Start engine, wait for oil light to go out. Let it stand for a few minuets, then check the level. Top up accordingly. You did fit a new oil filter? What oil are you using?
  13. J.R. I understand what you are saying, & could well be the case. Let hope its just a question of bleeding. By the way...That is also the same way I have to bleed the Brake Callipers on most Motorbikes, as the brake pipes run over from one calliper to the next causing an air lock...
  14. I just re read your first posting. Never have I heard that, or said it to a customer. After a proper road test the fitter should be happy with his work. If it has been bled properly, then after fitting all those components, it should work right from day one. There sounds like something has been assembled wrong in the clutch. (you could suggest the repairer re-checks his work) In the past I have come across the clutch plate being fitted the wrong way round. * But non the less, this doesn't sound right. * look at the picture you will see what I mean. It clearly says " Gearbox side"
  15. Hydraulic clutches adjust themselves as they wear. The only thing I could recommend you to do, is return the car to the repairing garage. Something is not right. If it has been bled properly, it should work. It sounds like air maybe getting into the system, but that is a guess. Or, the slave cylinder may be faulty. (unlikely but who knows) It should be able to stand overnight & work first time correctly.
  16. Well simple really. Apart from leaving your Mother at home..... Put the two dogs into kennels. Problem now solved. 😏 Enjoy your holiday. Carlo has now left the country.
  17. Carlodiesel replied to g6zru's topic in Skoda Yeti
g6zru, as mentioned by others, get a quote from your local garage. It doesn't have to be a VAG dealer. Local Independent down here is £50 pr hr + vat. On another note, What other model cars have you been looking at? It certainly is difficult to find a Yeti replacement.
  18. Now we have sorted the tyre pressures out: Can we now talk about Oil? 🤣🤣 Funny this sort of subject. Near on every Forum, Bike or Car, Oil & Tyres seem to be the top subjects. Ok apart from .....................
  19. Vladimir, how are you getting on with your LED's Be good to know if you have sorted yet??
  20. I hear Auto glass has a big bag of them. 🤣
  21. ej, most of what you have written is correct. The difference in pressures is very small, but coupled with a new tyre understandable. I have run the pressures as per the fuel cap many times, loaded or just two of us. Of course the more pressure the harder the ride. Most of the time I run the pressure at 2.2bar, unless going 4 up or heavy weight in boot. Adjust all pressures, then on level ground re-set your TPS. And, the only person to set the pressures right, is going to be you. 😄 Ps. When I go out on the bike, I check pressures every time. Not so often in the car though. 🤔
  22. At a guess Vladimir, I would think you might have a bad connection or a bad earth.
  23. Paul, maybe contact Skoda Customer Services & talk it through it with them. FWIW, yes it should last longer than that. Maybe a duff batch.
  24. Agree that is irritating. Why have you got your "settings" on Assistants.??
  25. aubrey, exactly the same here. When refitting, I always wipe a finger of copper grease round the hub where the disc sits. Also coat the back of the pads & the sliders with Mintex Ceratec anti brake squeal. Does the job well.
