  1. That sounds like the DMF rattling away. Should have replaced it whilst gearbox out.

YES. As you have to remove the CV joint to fit a boot. So 1 hour job, but I would expect them to charge 1.5 hr. I don't know how much the labour rate is up there, so find a local repair shop would be best.

Just have the cv boot replaced & refill with grease. The grease normally comes in a tube with the boot. No need to replace the CV joint unless it's knocking or making a noise on full lock. Saying that, I have seen on ebay a CV joint with boot kit for under £30.
  4. Yes. When I had my Fabia Monty Carlo I claimed for a new wheel & tyre. The car was two months old, & rounding a sharp bend the wheel found the worst loooonnggg pothole ever. They paid up. I think somewhere in the regen of £300 ish can't remember exact amount.
  5. ejstubbs, that could well be a pot hole or drain that is causing you that tyre problem. Time to put a claim in for the last two tyres along with wheel alignment...
  6. Have you checked your tyre pressures.? Ask dealer the part number he fitted. Just a follow up question here. Has anyone been in touch with Skoda customer services & vented there frustration respects these VW group radio satnavs? The car, yes now six years old, has a faulty radio unit that costs 100 of £ to have repaired because of a known fault in their equipment.

Jamieframer, looks like I have the same problem as you have had. Can't get the satnav to work as the letters disappear from the screen. Just been quoted £500 + for a repair. Not going down that road, so will check out the replacement screen thingy. Can you point me to the item number for ebay, Ta.
  10. Look on Gumtree

Look up car breakers yards near to you.
  12. Go with either Shocks, Monroe or Bilstein. And, yes while your at it fit new springs as well. I would let the Independent get them, if they are wrong then that's down to him. But if you get them and they're wrong you then have hassle.

  14. Is this the part you require?? SKODA YETI 2014-2018 LEFT FRONT DOOR TRIM - 5L0853517B eBay item number:155256903884 The part Number is on the back of the trim. You will need to remove trim & check the number. Looking at the new part, its stuck on.
  15. Can you take a picture of the part. (we like pictures)😀
  16. Have you checked that is not just a blocked drain pipe?? Two years ago is not a good job then, as it hasn't lasted to well. Is it worth a nicely worded letter to Skoda? You could at least say it will be the last one. 😞

  19. It looks like you could well have a leaking Injector. Supplying way too much fuel all the time. Get yourself to a Diesel specialist.
  20. I wonder why it always seems No.2 Injector problems on VW group cars. I replace an Injector No 2 on a VW golf last year (1,6D) & most of Golfs seem to have problems there. 🤔
  21. Not normally, but after all you have said, I would have the timing at least checked out. That way it eliminates that as a problem. You have checked that you have no brake binding anywhere? On our 2Ltr, we never drive under 1500rpm, it doesn't like it. (apart from crawling along) I would also suggest you speak to a re-map specialist. Last long run750 miles from memory was 60mpg. (but my memory is shot) 🤣 (If I recall, the VW fix... on the 1.6D they replaced the injectors & air flow meter....)
  22. There is a fuel return hose on the fuel filter. With the engine idling use a small can to catch what comes out. At idle there should be fuel wanting to return to the tank. Just check you have that. If you don't have that, its possible your fuel is freezing. Worth a check.
  23. Talking of batteries & the replacement of. Has anyone bothered to purchase a Memory keep alive system OBD ? If so which one did you get?
  24. Just thinking on this. Have you tried looking at the Aerial connector plug in the roof. Some Yeti's suffered from this fault in the aerial lead itself and suffered loss of DAB. Your Octavia maybe different to the Yeti, but still check connections from wherever your aerial is located.
  25. Could be something simple, like a bad bulb or a bad earth. Try replacing the bulb. Check the earth wire is secure as well inside the light fitting.
