Is it too expensive?
Has the battery been left for 5 years flat? I'd be a bit cautious. But then again that's why I avoided the PHEV.

Which gearbox?
My choice would be the 2.0TSi 204 petrol. But they are still rare on the used market as it wasn't available at launch. It's a slightly tweaked version of the later Mk3's 2.0TSi 190 and that is easily able to achieve 50mpg.

Which gearbox?
First one is a 1.5TSi etech so will be a DQ200 Second one is a 2.0TDi so will be DQ381. For the Mk4 Superb. 1.5 = DQ200 7 speed dry clutch 2.0 = DQ381 7 speed wet clutch PHEV = DQ400E 6 speed wet clutch and electric motor.

EA888 evo4 / DNNA vs EA888 / DKZA
Yes I agree. In real terms the differences in economy are small so this will be really down to finding the right car with the spec the OP wants at the right price..

Help understanding the mk3.5 facelift
Just checked and it's actually £620. £195 road tax and £425 Luxury car tax.

Help understanding the mk3.5 facelift
But if you want a 2.0TSi with a nice spec you will be closer to £60k for an A5. My Superb 2.0TSi L&K with some nice options £45k

Coasting?
The newer ZF conventional auto's can coast as well.

Karoq SE L Standard ‘Equipment’
Have you had a new quote on the SE?. Insurance prices seem to have dropped this year. Just had renwals through for our Octavia and Superb. Octavia 1.2TSi Last year £198, renewal £158. Superb 2.0TSi L&K Last Year £356, renewal £319

As I know you will agree the ZF6HP and ZF8HP that the RangeRover uses certainly should be serviced. It's a conventional auto using it's fluid to transmit power in the torque convertor and picking up debris from wear of the clutches and brake bands. And it's easy to build an argument, while JLR and BMW say no schedule the manufacturers ZF do advise servicing. But a very different animal from a DQ200.

None of my DQ200 failures were oil related. The DQ200 has two different oils. The first for gears is basically the same as a manual gearbox. The second for controlling hydraulic functions. Which are you thinking cause the failure modes of the DQ200? Changing the gearoil replaces the oil lubricating the gears. I've not seen any DQ200 failures due to excessive gear or geartrain wear. It's usually clutch packs or mechatronics.

I've lost count 😄 Lets try 2008 Golf 1.6TDi DQ200, No issues. 2010 VW Passat 2.0TDi DQ250 Sold to Family member, now 15 years old and 160k miles, no issues. 2011 Fabia 1.2TSi DQ200, Clutch slip in third year of ownership. Clutch packs replaced under warranty. 2014 Audi S5, DL501, no issue 2014 Octavia 1.6TDi DQ200, Clutch Slip, judder and error codes year 4. Clutch pack, mechatronic and two gear levers replaced. 2016 Yeti 1.2 TSi DQ200, Clutch Slip in year 2, clutch pack replaced. 2016 Yeti 1.2TSi DQ200, Clutch Slip in year 2, handed back with issue to lease company. 2017 Yeti 2.0TDi DQ250, No issues over 6 years. 2017 Fabia 1.0TSi DQ200 DSG, still got this one. Just started to throw error codes and has had microswitches replaced in gear lever. 2023 Karoq 1.5TSi DQ200, only kept in 10 months, no issues. 2024 Superb 2.0TSi DQ381, no issues so far but only 6k miles and 1 year old. So I've not had a single issue with any wet clutch box although fingers crossed on the DQ381 going forward. My record with DQ200's is mixed to say the least.

Ford have wet and dry clutch versions but the design differs significantly from the VAG boxes.

Propus Wheels reparability question
I recently had Hastings ask for 11 different photos of my car and my insurance was placed under "Investigation" They immediately questioned the wheels as the car should have had Propus wheels but has Vega Aero option. I had to provide the factory build sheet to prove the car left the factory with the Vega Aero alloys. A quick google seems to suggest this is becoming more common. Car insurance companies seem to be more strict on checking in recent years. Even if painting wheels I'd inform the insurance.

Karoq SE L Standard ‘Equipment’
I think you mis-took what I posted. Salford Skoda said he didn't have a rail down the right hand side. My post was you only get a rail down the right with varioflex. ie. Standard seats, rail on left only. Vatio Seats, rail on left AND right.

You only get a rail down the right hand side if you have vario flex seats.

Home CCTV
I've had the Police ask for footage at my own property and at a rental I have. For both they have not asked for a complete data dump. They have been happy for me to look through the footage and clip anything I think relevant.

Over the years I've had a few systems, of course Swann, a couple of the generic IP systems sold on Amazon and a NAS based Synology system. Last year I installed a Reolink NVR and now have eight cameras of different styles around the property. The trackmix and duo cameras I'm really impressed with. I went for Reolink after watching Paul Hibert Tech reviews on youtube. The entire system has been 100% reliable and I'm more than happy with the system, web interface, app and the notifications. I don't have security on/off lights but have seven LED floods on dusk to dawn to keep the property permanently illuminated. Reolink apparently do some great colour nightvision cameras but I don't need them. Track mix at night.

Heater windcreen - how do I tell if it is an original screen
2022 Sportline would not have had a Heated front screen as standard. If you have heated front screen you will have button circled in red above MENU.

Heater windcreen - how do I tell if it is an original screen
The Karoq and Superb use different technologies for heated screen.

Karoq SE L Standard ‘Equipment’
Worth noting that's the Sportline Edition. I don't think the earlier Sportline had DCC.

The facelift SEL lost the full LED AFS headlights and just got the LED reflector headlights and halogen fogs. The Sportline got Full Matrix LED. Varioflex rear seating was dropped from the 2024 SEL, the 2023 SEL had them.

Tow bar recommendations - 2020 L&K Estate
The warnings are correct but I've not had an issue with front assist. I usually have a nose weight of around 85-90kg

Looks like Skoda have removed Driving Score from the App and have removed reference to it on the web site.
