Thats **** all!

Did you know that the number of stars in the visible universe = 30 billion trillion (3x10²²). Count 'em :)

You totally just got that off Wikipedia!

See, with a wealth of googled facts like these, who would want to leave this site over a few mytorquepenis is bigger than yourtorquepenis threads?

Mine wasn't actually googled lol. I am sad enough to be reading Bill Bryson's - A Short History of Nearly Everything lol!

It's quite good, but a bit taxing for bedtime reading! He's a good author though, funny guy.

Thats possibly the most pointless and ridiculous argument I've ever seen. The 'speed' in question was assumed to be that above the speed limit, and the point being made is that you don't have to be exceeding said speed limit to have a crash.

at which point did i ever mention exceeding the speed limit? geez didnt no one ever study basic physics when they were at school for anything to happen momentum i.e. speed is needed speed does not mean im doing 90 in a 50.

Speed is NOT the main cause of accidents.

Inappropriate speed IS.

Thank you.

Which is exactly what was said - did you actually understand the posts you were replying to?

The OP and others suggested that exceeding the speed limit caused crashes. Others said this wasn't true and it was actually driver ability or lack of it that CAUSED the crashes. You then for some reason suggested that they were saying that stationary objects could crash (why is anybody's guess??) Yet now you appear to be agreeing with the statement that crashes can happen whether we exceed the speed limit or not and therefore are agreeing with the post you initially contested (very poorly). Jeez, did no one study basic English at school?

actually loz no, i didnt study english at school i was dyslexic and also couldnt spell (as i have posted before on this site). so i appologise for my lack of grammar, daddy did say if he could have afforded it he would have sent me to evening classes to try and help, but sadly couldnt afford it.

Thats nice, but clearly you can read and comprehend posts else you wouldn't be on here. You just completely contradicted yourself is the point I was trying to make ;)

And everyone studies English at school. Whetehr you can do it or not is another matter. Like I did Physics as per your post. Doesn't make me a scientist.

nope, nor does studying much of the things at school... its not what you know, its who you know ;)

:offtopic: :rofl::rofl:

oh yeah, who's going? :friday:

I remember when I first joined this forum after leaving a BMW one. That had deteriorated into the usual 'what wheelz look da best' and 'how do I fit angel eyez to my 316i' threads. Very few threads of interest appeared any more especially with the cars falling into younger and younger hands with them being so cheap.

The Skoda one by comparison was a much more mature userbase and the threads much more sensible and interesting with some entertaining banter thrown in. This VS That threads are inevitable on any forum but it's how they are dealt with that sets such websites apart. If they're kept sensible and tactful with noone deliberately trying to cause offence with their comments then such threads can be productive and quite fun.

The way I'm starting to look at it now is if it's something you wouldn't say to other peoples faces, you don't say it online. Hiding behind your keyboard in a slagging match is rather sad.

To those idiots that mocked my original post, I certainly didn't say it for attention (why would I:confused:) and I definately didn't say it to be controversial (what would I gain:confused:). I had assumed that MOST replies would have been in support. Speak volumes for how this site has gone.

The title 'Maybe I should go' was how I was feeling after having attended yet another incident where lives were lost, and others ruined, and I am amazed at how much I seem to have been mocked.

To the people who told me to jump off a cliff, or leave the site, thanks, really mature. If the subject wasn't so serious I wouldn't have bothered posting, and I dont regret doing so despite the flak.

I can count on one hand the amount of supporting replies out of 5 pages, it speaks volumes. My post was a serious observation on what I consider to be irresponsible driving. Oh, and it wasn't NECESSARILY speed I was commenting on, it was racing other idiots on public roads. You carry on whilst other people pick up the pieces, it's pathetic.

Is the seriousness of what I was saying that funny?

Again, speaks volumes.

Sir,

I think you need to calm it down. I will be 100% honest with you hear when I say that if a man calls me and other members kn0bs I doubt that will get you a great reply now will it?

If it wasn't NECESSARILY speed then why not write that in your original post rather than trying to 'attack' people with your AMAZING come-backs.

Talking about speaking and volumes - I myself would go as far to leave you with a "FAIL." Your ranting about how you think people have changed and are calling most members idiots or words to that effect.

If you wish for a constructive thread then stop throwing your toys out the pram. I think you will probably log-on again to read this thread again so I will say this:

I'm glad that you maybe decided to stay - I look forward to the day you move on from this thread and return to helping other members like you have in the past.

Many thanks,

Don`t go. You and your colleagues do a good job. You are just probably feeling low, maybe even angry after seeing things and dealing with them which other people on this forum hopefully will never ever see in there lives, which is natural, you are a human being after all. You make a valid point about the head to head threads, although they are few and far between and moderated quite well on here. Please stay.

Edit= Read all the posts on here and maybe Mods should remember when chosen for that role exactly what responsibility that entails.

no the mods are to protect / support the majority.

whinging attention seekers should work out that their view is not shared and pipe down.

If cutting people out of cars and otherwise cleaning up after these things affects you that much then maybe you should consider a change of career?

After all ignorance is bliss.

Bloody hell this is wearing a little thin.

Its a forum! Get used to it. Its not school where you can complain to your teacher, If you dont like what you are reading, stop reading!

If I started kniting (quite possible now i am into old aged volvo catagory of driving) But then realised it wasnt my cup of tea, i wouldn't continue kniting a jumper. Id put the needles down and go for a walk or something.

So if you dont like what your reading, go for a walk

lets just face it some members on here will never be converted, will never understand or see the consequeneces of their (poor) driving till its too late, let them kill themselves and send another £100,000 to be taken from our council tax next year to cover the cost of police/fire/ambulance attending the scene, the drugs and medication in hospital and all the other things on the nhs they will need. the highways authority for turning up and cleaning up... yes it does come to over £100k per accident on average (Emily Elizabeth or someone working in this kind of line will no doubt know what the recent average fiqures are).

I think no matter what is said on here no one is going to convert no one and everyone will carry on as before, personally i think the thread reached the end of its life within hours of being posted... sorry my 2p worth.

i used to be a copper and i left the job partially cos of people like you (i assume you are a copper and not a fireman).

please go jump off a cliff along with the rest of the "holier than thou" brigade.

Nothing like intelligent and considered criticism, but that’s nothing………….

Whats with this guy? i got my vrs because i like the odd blast out like overtaking in 6th and like covering people in smoke like this guy and his wife in a saab cabby,i dont drive round like a loon in 30 zones or anything just have a good laff every now and then. why dont you just get the bus dude?

You seem very defensive of the OP comments and yet he mentioned no names. Guilty conscience?:D

Wish we had the multi quote facility again.

I think the OP had a slight point about there might be a slightly raised amount of ‘I smoked a…..’ threads. I think I have once mentioned that I believed there where a lot of newer (younger) members that had changed the Forum slightly in favour of this type of style, but I don’t think I am necessarily against it. I choose not to bother with those posts.

Funnily enough Firemen usually receive a good press on Brisky so I am a little surprised at the vitriol directed at a man who sees the results of car accidents and their inherent horrors on a daily bases. The man is entitled to his thoughts and I think they deserve a little more respect then the ‘curl up and die’ type of response that he has had from a lot of ppl. Disagree with him certainly, but to use insults etc is to show that he might be slightly closer to the truth than some of you are comfortable with. Those of you that have been constructive with your criticisms are not the people that I direct this too. I await the guilty to have start with me now

I have considered leaving Brisket on a few occasions recently, due to ignorant posts, ignorant people, and also because I don't get the same enjoyment out of it as I once did. I suppose the more people that join, the more the site changes, it's inevitable. There's still the same core posters on here though. Some new, some old, some have gone who used to contribute a lot to the site, and some have joined who do the same.

I'm still here though. I think If I really felt it was time to leave, I'd just leave. There's no point posting a big farewell, as that closes the door on a return if you felt like it one day....

I wasn’t sure if the OP really meant he was leaving, or whether it was an expression of the disappointment he felt with Biskys slight change in direction.

Read my post, I didn't call anyone specific a kn0b did I.

However, if you race others on public roads, then yes, you are a kn0b.

Cutting them out doesn't affect me, the cause does.
