lol at this thread,i'm 31 get really cheap insurance cos of my many years NO CLAIMS BONUS mod my car and lovedriving as you put it like a kn0b,its a thrill, its fun, risk is what life is all about, its what makes it worth living, adrenalin is better than any drug(i know i've tried most)am i skilled or just lucky i'll let you make your own mind up,even tho i have said this i don't believe my actions on the road are irresponsible or a danger to others,i drive over 100000 miles a year and they have been incedent free for the last 10,i had a couple of minor dings in the early years as most do,but apart from that its been happy days:D

I drive over 100000 miles a year

That's an awful lot of miles. I do about 40,000 miles per year and that's roughly 1000 hours of driving (40mph is a reasonable average for the UK). Now, if you think about it, 1000 hours is 20 hours driving per week - you reckon you're doing 50 hours per week or 7 hours driving every day (including weekends, and not allowing yourself time for bank holidays, Christmas etc.) - that's a real stretch even if you're a professional/HGV driver as they don't tend to even average 40mph. Plus, the dealership where you get your servicing done must have a real love/hate relationship with you - they love you for coming so often, and hate the miles you must stick on their loan car.

I'd be interested to hear how you rack up that sort of mileage.

Thanks Soviet, nice to see that someone else shares my views on what is essentially law breaking.

I appreciate it:thumbup:

He did say cheerio a few posts back, I took this to mean he was leaving.

congratulations out of 20k members a whole 1 has thrown his support behind you, just like he supports the politburo.

you must be proud to be such a popular guy  pehaps you could advise gordon on how to be popular. :)

Not logged in for a few days so just picked up this thread. Carefree is obviously entitled to his opinion and given his work probably more so than most of the people replying. My brother is a fireman and while cutting dead bodies out of cars is an occupational inevitability, it still upsets him occasionally - especially when it's the innocent victims of lunatic drivers.

Yes we all like to feel the rush we get when accelerating hard and pushing on along a counrty lane but if you get into an accident where you were driving fast and the other person wasn't then probably 90% of the time it was your fault.

All I'm saying here is basically live & let live, people. If you must drive fast then only do it when it's safe to do so.

Finally, I do think that you need to change your Briskoda name, Carefree. You obviously do care.

Well I really was thinking that it was Soviets choice to support such things.

In all honesty, the cars we drive are in our hands.

If we choose to speed or race then thats our decision, if he wanted to make us realise the dangers of this then why not say it, rather than an argumentive thread that seem so have aggrevated damn near every one..

Well I really was thinking that it was Soviets choice to support such things.

at what point did they have a choice? it was inflicted on them by the spetsnaz if they argued too much..... bit like brisky really......:)

It was you who said he supported the politburo :D

*boring rant*

Cheerio:thumbup:

bye bye

Can somebody please explain why everyone seems so upset???? The guy has not mentioned anyone by name, he has not mentioned anyone by their thread, he has not mentioned anyone by an event/race, all he has done is express his views against what he calls kn0bs. So surely if you are annoyed at his comments against kn0bs, then doesn’t that mean you are a kn0b by association? You may not agree with his comments, but they were no more aggressively posted than many on Brisky, he just seems to have pricked a nerve or two. So come on guys, if you are not kn0bs, why can’t you just leave him to his views?

just look at my social group, theres your answer,we are all kn0bs;)

personally i think the thread starter is a knob, there hasn't realy been any need for some of his comments which shortened down into 'if you drive like a knob you deserve to die and me in my profession have no pity'.

if he doesnt like some of the threads do like the rest of us do and dont bother reading them.

if he wants to leave then he's free to do so without having digs at people.

just my opinion offcourse.

But that’s just it, he hasn’t had a dig at anyone. Or are you saying you drive like a kn0b?

i'll freely admit i drive 'enthusiastically' and that in his terms would classify me as a knob.

No, driving enthusiastically is not driving like a kn0b and he did not say that.

No, driving enthusiastically is not driving like a kn0b and he did not say that.

i agree, and i also agree he hasn't had a dig at anyone in particular but more on a general scale of people in this forum and some of the threads that go up.

from people who seem to think it clever to drive like idiots on public roads,

Now, I use speed when it suits for overtaking etc and if I see a kn0b in a saxo at traffic lights revving his engine I purposely let him 'beat' me off the line,

.

The ppl he has a go at in his OP are people who drive like idiots, not enthusiastic drivers.
