Someone loves their car alot....

Be funny if the minute he'd applied the 51st coat of his £10k wax a Seagull flew over and dropped a good un over the bonnet..... Which is the reason I'm no detailer, because that's what happens within a few hours every time I wash the car

Now I love a clean car, try to wash and polish it once a week, wax it properly once a month, but what I really love is driving the damn thing, I wonder if that guy ever actually drives the car or is he too worried that the backs of the wheels will get dirty !.

Alan

As a "show car" to advertise his trade then you cant fault the attention to detail but surely you would pick a more eye catching car than an Astra.

Indeed. You can't fault the finish, and attention- he does an incredible job. I'm just not sure it's worth that much obsession.

One average journey to work and mine is filthy again.

Do you think he'd get upset if you showed him the bunch of Scallies at Ellsemere Port that built it?

Lol

The problem with that is that he was sad enough to insist on what build number he got, so he probably took little trips up there to stare wistfully into the compound (although I think all the VXR's/OPC editions are built in Germany).

By "stare wistfully", do you mean "have a tommy tank through the fence"?

he used to wash his blue VXR every 3 days , and now he has bought a white car which will need washing every day

my vote is for saddo

I think he must have far to much money to spend that much on a wax

Does he deserve such a car. Indeed to use as a show car it's superb work.

It looks well, but it's only a car at the end of the day - and I think he needs to get out more.

:iagree:

This guy has Mental Problems. Good work, but ultimately, who the frick is gonna notice all that OCD-ness apart from him and his mate. It took me over an hour just to get to page two, so I had to stop after that.

Can't help but think there is some exhaust sex going on.

He's probably got a Zymol Signiture Edition Fleshlight

:rofl::rofl:

I wonder if he mas.....

Nooo iam not going there

maybe hes the guy that invented the car bra?

also i wonder if he ever does drive it does he make people take their shoes off on entry

i cleaned sinisters mum's car last night which hasnt had a proper seeing to in years and that was only 2 hours (removing tar and inbedded crap). even giving it a AG deal of resin, dark scratch thingy, gloss and a coat of 472 it doesnt remove everything but certainly an improvement, but no way could i spend that amount of time on a car i would get so bored or even paranoid.

I can see him at a party now:

"There was this one time when I found 3 paint defects that looked like a penis.....but then I realised it was just my reflection cause the paint was so shiney"

I wax my car but for christs sake.....the most I've spent is about 2 hours when I first got it....and that was to try and make it easier to wash the next time!

I particularly like the bit about him changing the colour of the wheels because he was 'having nightmares about the way the light was falling on them'. At least now it's ok with the 'juxtapostion of black and white'......commonly known as silver.

I don't get why you would want a bible quote on your engine. Also, I'm not overly keen on the car (as I'm sure others aren't). Fair play though, if you have no life outside of car cleaning it must be satisfying to do.

A post reads "i'm lost for words" then he replies in his own post "so was my partner and solicitor".

I'm guessing he's single now! :)

It buggered my computer trying to look at it all

Just got round to reading the second page... bet he **** himself parking up next to the big puddle on his "finished article" shots

Same here.

Oh wow...yet another bunch of posts by the narrowminded ****s of this forum. Everyone in this world derives enjoyment from different things. People really need to open their eyes and realise that the world is a better place for people and what they love doing. I enjoy bikes but there are plenty who think it's a complete waste of money and time. Do I care? No. I just think that the people making the comments are a bit immature and need to look at themselves before making disparaging comments about others. It's a shame that so many people in this country are so narrow minded and, tbh, I expected better of car forums where the inhabitants are usually interested in cars. To some, this may just be changing the oilfilter, finding out and diagnosing their problems, right through to the other end of the spectrum; engine rebuilds, major modifications and work and then to detailing. Some people want to get perfection from their car. And that again is all in the eye of the beholder. Perfection to one may be some turtlewax applied with an old T-shirt whilst to another, it may be as this guy has done with his Astra. When I ride, I train and try to improve on areas every time I am out as in my eyes, what is the point in riding if I'm not improving. It is the same with many of the top detailers. They want to push things as far as possible whether that is their job or just their hobby and they get satisfaction from this. if it's their job then it means that they can improve their reputation and earn more money. If you try to better your career, do you not try to challenge yourself and show what you are capable of?

If you don't see the point then fair enough but do not seek to belittle anyone who does it by making comments that they need to get a life, or that they are sad individuals etc. Surely people of this site get fed up explaining to people why they drive skoda's and are happy to drive them? it's exactly the same thing. Narrow minded individuals passing comment on something that has no impact on them.

Agree 100% with cloverleaf's comments. Not something I would do myself but I can certainly appreciate the attention to detail and perfectionism. Bit of a perfectionist myself but I have to learn to put up with imperfection unfortunately :D The idiots I have for neighbours seem to think I wash my car too often although I wash it less than once a month, and then that's just a quick shampoo rinse and dry.
