Regarding Skoda Octavia vRS:

The software for the Octavia VRS is available in a 1.0 bar configuration and produces 207 horsepower and approximately 240 ft. lbs of torque

Stage 1 Rechipping - including rolling road time' date=' mapping, fitting, 'before/after' plots of power and torque, test drive. Workshop time about 3 hours. Performance gains approx. 40 bhp, 40 lbsft torque. Learn what the 'T' in 1.8T really stands for!

So that's 220 bhp and 213 lbft from them[/quote']

So what do you do if you "only" get 219 bhp and 212 lbft ?

And so is mine. :D

Oh not it's not! :D

Chipped BHP: 218 - 230 bhp

No mention of Torque, but there is a Torgue Graph, that I don't understand...

So all that extra JUST for 15 hp?

LOL :D

You either want to or you don't Andy. Surely there is something you've had that is just that little bit better, or more shiney, or more flashing lights, or whatever? You know what I'm talking about. It's that toys thing when all's said and done.

I'm off.

This will, I'm sure, run and run.

But it's all good :D

Nighty night.

Anyone see eastenders tonight? Proper ****e it is now. No wonder they sacked that bird who was in charge...

Yep and I fancy Jesse Wallace

can you see me

So, here are the stats from the "Big Four"... On an otherwise standard Octavia vRS 1.8T VVT DBW, you'd expect to get the following BHP and Torque...

JabbaSport: 218-230 BHP (Unknown torque)

APR: 207 BHP / 240 LBFT

AmD: 220 BHP / 213 LBFT

REVO: 207 BHP / 232 LBFT (or 218 BHP 240 LBFT with a 4 Bar FPR and 4 Bar Program)

I know what you mean Rich, but life is more than that even if I have been there on certain things. But even so, it is only 15 bhp that is being gained for what? That reduction of 0.3 seconds for the traffic light sprint? Or the ability to claim 1 extra scalp?

1 A generic map isn't a bad thing really' date=' that's what the manufacturer's provide after all. Can anyone argue with a stated hp and torque gain for a stated price?

2 A rolling roads is a piece of measurement equipment which should be/is calibrated on a regular basis. There is no reason why all the RRs in Britain shouldn't read the same, atmospheric conditions/heat soak at the time of the test withstanding. If there is 30bhp difference between two RRs under similiar atmospheric conditions, one or both of them are wrong.

[/quote']

Those were my points exactly. :D

But I'm afraid to ask how come?

I think to be fair, you'd get more than 15bhp with all that lot... Probably more like another 30 (JBS James's Octy vRS for example pulls 250 BHP and has all that kit on it...)

Either way, it's going to make it a bit faster, and a lot louder!!

Oh, and I'll throw this back in the melting pot, how come figures of in access of 220hp are reported when the tuner himself has been quoted saying more than 220hp is not possible from just a remap and Borg Warner say both the turbo and fuel system max out at ~215-220hp?

 Two cars in question were A3`s.... one had a graph showing 237bhp the other 233bhp:( both on a certain RR were showing between 25-30 less..

 real figures of 212-207 bhp, still good but ooooohhhhhhhhh why bother:mad:

PS no nasty pms please

Just a minor amendment to your otherwise good post Dave:

The settings aren't actually saved to the SPS unit... The settings are stored within the ECU and the SPS switch does just that... Switches between the maps.

Sorry to be anal' date=' just wanted to clear that up. :)[/quote']

Ah but you see Josh 'saved' was in inverted commas so it wasn't really incorrectly stated, it was conveying a point/message to the people. You can't prove anything, your argument won't stand up in a court of law. :D

/sorry, it's just that these discussions aren't the same without some name calling!

Bring back the good old days! hahahahaha

As my missus says (all too frequently) "you're so mean"!!

Anyway, have my stats above settled this for a bit?

There's only Jabba that quote over 218 BHP...

Is that because they can tailor the map for other mods, or is that on an otherwise stock car? (no, not a stock-car with dents all over it... an otherwise standard car)??

Neither.

Ooh Jessie's looking very "ethnic" there! (Y)

Hi Josh

I understand what you say above...

But my flash done a year and a half ago ... won't be the same as a REVO flash done now... will it

It can't be .... no way ... never ... ah ah :rotz:

:) :)

Why all the Eastenders stuff? Is it because their figures have been revealed as disappointing?

Huh?
