Cable arrived. Many thanks Stoofa!

Cable arrived. Many thanks Stoofa!

Mine too - excellent service mate - should only take a few minutes to fit so I'll be doing it later

Edit :-

Fitted, working, and possibly the best reception I've ever had from a car radio on AM - and all for a bit over £23 - excellent !

I would fit it, if my fricking Columbus wasn't bricked :(

Postman Pat is being a bit tardy this end.....:thumbdwn:

The final two cables are packaged up and will be sent out today.

So that should be all the cables making their way out to you all.

I've used Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded.

Many of the cables left on Friday - so if you didn't recieve the item on Saturday you should expect it today.

Although - are their still some postal strikes going on?

If any of you have not recieved your package by the end of the week let me know.

I've sent them recorded so their value is covered - anything outstanding by the end of the week I'll chase with RM.

I have had interest in the cables from one other person who unfortunately was on holiday whilst we were finalising this one and missed out.

So if anyone else is interested, please start listing your names and I'm happy to run another Group Buy.

As always the more taking part the cheaper the overall cost.

I would say it is probably not worth running one for less than 5 cables.

Payment sent.

Thanks for all your efforts Stoofa

Cable received and fitted, and appears to be working. But, I am not sure if its working as intended.

I now have AM reception along with the FM reception, but the ariel amplifier is not working as it should be. If you press and hold the setup button, eventually a hidden menus will appear "Radio Service Mode" with FM, AM, and DAB options. Click on FM and you can see the status of both tuners. If you look at the last line, you will see 2 off's shown. Now watch the screen and you will see as they go "On" and then Off again over and over. With just the one cable connected you lose AM but the last line always says ON.

edit: seems to have worked ok on the way home, maybe it just sorted itself out.

Interesting about the tuners tunring off and on though.....

I knew I should have ordered a few spare cables - just didn't want to take the risk at £23.45 a go. :)

Anyway, I've had a couple of people asking me about the cables, so I'm sending out "feelers" for a second Group Buy.

Realisitically we need 5-6 people minimum to make it worth while - there maybe some VW or Seat owners who also want this cable?

Anyway - to start things off:

1. Samuir1974

2. Sibart

I checked on the way to work and all is good so far, so a false alarm on the tuners I think.

Also, I have to drive through Hatfield tunnel, previously when exiting the tunnel I had no radio reception and had to change channel to get reception back. Now everything works perfectly, without any need for a work around.

Right, fitted mine in the work car park earlier. I did a few FM reception power tests before and after (using diversity receiver) on various stations. I can't obviously measure selectivity (which should be better with two receivers!!!), but I can measure recevied power according to the setup display i.e. press and hold setup until the radio menu comes up. Typically the received power was anywhere between 10-25% better. A more subjective test will be made on the way home where i travel though some 'radio resistant areas' i.e the country.

Just picked mine up from the Post Office, hopefully will get time at the weekend to fit it.

Payment sent.

Cheers for this Stoofa

Took me 7 minutes Bryan, then spent 1.5 hours fitting light assist :D

Oh I wish I'd looked for this! Been after one for ages, but balked at the cost of a single lead!

If anyone missed out or you are running again, keep me posted!

If we decide to run this GB with 5 people you'd be looking at £25.36 delivered to your door via RM Recorded.

So if we can get one more person and I'll then confirm that everyone is happy with the price and then get things moving.
