  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

With the aid of a scaffolding pole and some wood I now have all my summer tyres off the floor neatly stored in the shed.

Reset the error codes in the Yeti after replacing the seats with carbon ones for Brands Hatch.

Threw up a couple of airbag faults for obvious reasons.

Replaced the front reg plate, tried doing the back one but couldn't undo the screws. Took off interior boot panel to see if i could do anything there but no joy and can't get the boot panel back on now. :(

Drove back to Surrey, boot would only open half way, so gave it a bit of force and found the parcel shelf had dropped and was preventing the boot opening fully but ended up snapping one of the shelf strings in the process. :(

Was also hoping to get my front splitter put on this weekend but no joy there either. :(

I had the same with my rear plate, John :( The screws/ nuts had seized so I had to cut them off and find something else to replace them. I ended up using some nuts and bolts from a local ironmongers with some rubber washers to help stop the same happening again.

I'm thinking i'll have to cut them as well but it can stay on there for now. I only needed to change the front plate but thought may as well do the back as they're both the original plates.

Cleaned it over the weekend and re-applied C2v3 after it was washed at the dealers removing all the good work!

New rear seats arrived today. They're Recaros out of a V6 4Motion Golf. Only disadvantage is that they have a lap belt in the centre instead of a 3 point belt.

When I opened the package I was a bit concerned.

I broke out the old IKEA leather cleaning and feeding kit.

parked it outside my mates house, not estimating how high the kerb was and endured 3 seconds of the worst scraping noise ever. I really hope nothing's damaged

If it's any consolation, I found one of my Fabias only had one string on the shelf, and it opened and closed perfectly well. I convinced myself it was a worthwhile weight-saving option and left it as it was!

It's why I never screw plates in - the rear ones always seem to be worse for some reason, maybe it's because on a hatch they get lots of moisture in and around the screws?

Took it for an MoT - passed without any problems.

Same. Slight advisory on mine though with the front left side suspension part, so will get that sorted soon!

Had a random vehicle search carried out on it when coming back on to camp and realised just how much crap is in my boot. I should really empty the ski's, osprey pouches, painting and decorating stuff and overalls out of my car. The rest of the inside of my car is spotless, its just that I rarely go in the boot and its out of sight, out of mind

I thought that was you..!

Where were you??? Dale Dunbar's going to love this :giggle:

After giving her the twice yearly deep clean and rewax on Saturday I finally got round to fitting the blackvue I've had for a couple of months after another bout of paranoia!

Fitted the steels with winters to hers and the winters on my old alloys to mine. Both running Good-Year Ultragrip 8's :)

I didn't do it to my Skoda but some did hit my pride and joy. Luckily it's only £500 to get a respray and dent knocked out. :(

Bought 15 litres of Lidl screenwash, and ordered a Bosch S5 096 battery from JustCarBatteries. New rubber on the front tomorrow then I'll be ready for winter.

Glad you got sorted with the battery

Haha..! Just as they were searching your engine bay.. I considered shouting out "Hey, I know you..!" as I drove by but I didn't think the MPGS guys would appreciate it..

Ripped the rubber bit off the scuttle panel drain as it was blocked, about a gallon of water poured out.

You should have shouted stu and I would have been doing my best meerkat impression trying to find out who shouted it :giggle: When I opened my boot I got a funny look when the MPGS guy saw the 3 bags of baby clothes that were in my boot when they know that I don't have any kids which caused an interesting conversation

Today I considered trading my vRS in for a boat since the road to work was flooded in places and I could only do about 10 mph max because it was so deep
