What did you do to your Skoda today?

My nexus 4 seems to like a blue tint when it's low light and outside.

Oh well.

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Got wet and cold fitting my upgrade battery, gone from 61/540 to 77/780. Worries about the battery box being too small turned out to be 'cos some pervert had stuck a cut up fabric battery cover around the inside of the box, making it look rather small. 5 minutes with some white spirit removed the bodge and everything was ok. Now the starter stays still while the car spins round it...

After the wing mirror and driver's window, i've had my third thing go wrong in that the cigar lighter has stopped working and forced me to rely on CDs again. New one ordered and hopefully the back of Octavia bad luck.

washed it :)

Washed both of them.

Retro fitted Auto Lights, seems to work, just need some daylight to make sure.

I did the rears today :)

Before

After

11031162013_cea2bb0107_b.jpg

Replaced o/s headlight bulb (dipped) - 57,000 miles with Philips Extreme.

Washed the past 2 weeks worth of road curd off of it :)

Jacked up octavia and found jacking point (?) for axle stand (elliptical plate near rear jacking point, two bolts with a domed centre with hole).

Couldn't find where knocking was coming from at rear and decided work best left to a garage that has spares and tools to hand, too many rusted fasteners etc.

Also managed to remove duff rear parking sensor by only unscrewing the four screws on lower part of bumper and bending it aside.

What a job to release the clips single handed!

Then gave up until another day as I couldn't separate the sensor from the short bit of wiring with only one hand, the plug looks to have a tough and fiddly connector.

At least I found that the raised wheel binds slightly so an imminent brake strip is added to the list of things to sort.

Gave It a royal spanking up and down the A9.. Then Jetwashed it.. twice..

Put 55 litres of fuel into its 55 litre fuel tank. Must have been fairly empty then :bandit: Also took out the variable boot floor and re-organised the boot so the roller cover would close again since its so full

I thought about waxing my skoda today, but alas I couldn't be bothered.

Not much it was lashing it down.
