Replaced 2 dud rear parking sensors and now the system functions, which is good as the mirrors all seem to be different magnifications which isn't great when parking.

Either the rammer is in danger of impaling an innocent vehicle or there's an embarrassingly large gap.

Traded my Octavia vRS in for a brand new Fabia Monte Carlo Tech estate.

Today used the Octavia to recover our fairly awful Renault Kangoo and trailer that had got stuck............again. (I do keep saying we should get a Scout instead).

So connected the towing bar to the rope, then on to the van and pull. No wheelspin, no traction control light on the dash, just a nice gentle pull. The van and the trailer close to 2.5 tonnes.

Ahhh... there's nothing like fresh snow and a handbrake to test the wheel/body alignment!

All things being equal my Octy skids to the left requiring slight left steering input prior to handbrake application to counter the tendency.

At least I'm forewarned if an emergency arises.

I'll get a geometry check when I've figured/fixed rear left knocking source, bush or something.

It's a shame ABS can't be turned off, I'm sure manual braking techniques could stop me quicker in snow hence playing with the handbrake, call it getting to know your car... sometimes you gotta get radical!

Gave my octavia a much needed clean inside & out. 

Stuck the green wings off the spares car on my blue truck (mine were rusty as hell), realised it looked pretty pikey, so put the grill and bonnet on as well. I need to tweak my panel gaps somewhat, because at the minute it looks like it's been front ended and fixed badly 

Packed it ready for going home tomorrow

4 new michy pilot 3's wallets a lot lighter now.

This is true, just really annoyed how much hassle a few seconds of lack of concentration can cause!

Cars just been recovered and I really hope I see it again!

Went to Dealers and ordered some new mats (prefer OE mats for fit, have some cheap stuff for normal use)

 

Got a skoda key ring

Treated Monte to a fresh set of plates. Geddit?

fitted some new wheels

Washed, cleaned out, vacuumed the carpets and mats, cleaned the glass inside and out and added a layer of Bilt Hamber Hydra Wax
