  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Replaced blower motor resistor and pollen filter :)

Is it normal to smell a bit or is my new resistor already broke

Fixed the huge boost leak that started three weeks ago (been away for a week in between) and decided yesterday was the day to do it.

Turned out the 'cooler pipe attached to the turbo had almost come off!

Anyway, my parking bay took a beating....

..... I did feel the ground and was cool to the touch, but what can you do :D

Replaced the boot lock motor assembly after it decided to pack up yesterday. I was sweating a bit as I'm off to Anglesey tomorrow and need a serviceable boot to get my mountain bike and kit in it.

Thanks to Paul in the parts department of Alex Lawrie, Liverpool for being as helpful as ever and sourcing the part for me in no time at all. Top bloke.

On the same day that the boot decided that it didn't want to open, one of my parking sensors decided that it no longer wanted to be part of the bumper and popped out. Thankfully it's the nearside one and I've managed to replace it without removing the bumper. I have however, removed quite a bit of skin off the back of my hand and arm after squeezing between the exhaust and the bottom of the bumper. Ouch!

All this after two hours kip after a night shift as I had to get to the dealers as the parts department closes at 1230pm.

Just about to wash and hoover it and then I might have a kip in the garden. Bloody knackered!

Not solely today but over the last couple of days, bought new exhaust, fmic and clutch. :)

Just need the few finishing parts and to get it booked in somewhere for fitting, oh and also to get it remapped again.

Quick oil and filter change that the car has been lusting after for weeks now

Drove mine for the first time in two weeks, it's been sat at work getting dusty whilst I've had a different Audi home every night, so picked it up and drove it home and gave it a good wash ready for the AMD rolling road day tomorrow.

Big Jag, private drive, surely you simply got your man servant to sort it out, whilst you had a game of croquet.

Washed polished and waxed the Octy, dressed tyres and hoovered it. Started cleaning out the engine bay....will be doing that for a while.

Checked tyres and oil for its trip to France.

Hoovered out Mrs H's Fabia then put 100 miles on it.

No it wasn't my driveway, I only have a private parking bay and a garage. That said, I used my neighbours parking bay as mine has a gradient that I wasn't comfortable working on :giggle:

probably fine - mine smelt of burning for a few weeks initially but was then fine.

Did a handbrake turn on some mashed potatoes. The yard at work is like a mini skid-pan when it's been raining and you've been mixing cow food and it's a bit tight so this is the easiest way to turn round. Works well. Other than that nothing really.

Drove it work, got my indy mechanic (the head of local skoda dealers service dept) booked for a service on thursday evening. New rear brake shoes, springs, drums, cylinders and shocks goimg on along with thermostat swap for genuine one he ordred for me at work :)

also going to get him to give the front end a once over to make sure alls okay there too suspension wise. Passed nct a couple of weeks ago with no faults or advisories, but i dont really trust them..

Drove it to the dealer, handed over the keys and a wad of cash. Drove home in a shiny new one. :)

Hoovered the inside and wiped down the plastics, fitted new front wipers, cleaned the windows and topped up the screen wash, checked oil, packed for the holiday, took to the garage and put 50l of diesel in it, tyre pressures and then a once over with Meguairs quick detailer .
