What did you do to your Skoda today?

Another one to find that Greenstuff pads are utter rubbish. Hopefully you'll get something else fitted sharpish, as they'll only continue to get worse!

Yellow stuff any better?

Got its new wheels fitted with a new pair of Goodyear Eagle F1s, fueled it up, took the other half of this picture:

Took it to Middlesbrough, brought it back, then decided to keep it.

Thanks guys

Haven't seen it for a couple of days, the wife left it at her work awaiting a new nearside front wheel bearing in time for a big trip to Wales with all our camping gear. Have missed the little turbo as I have been pootling about in the wife's Jazz

If you got anywhere near the same service from Derek Slacks as i did, I'm not in the least surprised you went home without doing any deal.........

Mike

Honestly I have to say the service was spot on, no butting in with can I help you and they weren't overly pushy. We went through a few options but as I said when I first went in there I was just looking to see what it would be, not to make a deal. In the end it my doubt and the forums help that set the answer, mostly the forum.

I wouldn't say so. I avoid EBC entirely. Pagid or Mintex usually.

Today I drove Mrs Baxlin's Skoda to Snetterton. Parked it for free for the day, and watched a really good day's motor racing, including 3 BTCC rounds.

Driving home I noticed the passenger side lecky window didn't work, all it took was to take the fuse out, and put it back in.........

Delayed entry for yesterday...

Swapped the a wheel back over after having a puncture repaired.

Replaced the brittle old dipstick & tube. Old dipstick tube snapped off and was very fiddly to remove but I got there in the end!

Another late entry for yesterday... Drove it from Sheffield to Belfast.

That'd test the waterproofing.

Was just thinking the same! ;)

Drove home to Chester from Doncaster with a big smile on my face having picked up my new Octy Vrs from a fellow Briskodian who polished it to within an inch of its life , I am well chuffed

Excellent! Who was the previous Briskodian? :)

Look forward to some photos

OK OK so I made use of a ferry for a couple of hours between Holyhead and Dublin... Although the waterproofing was tested anyway given e damn weather!!!!

A very nice guy called Iain , Brisky username TISCA  .

Check the for sale section for pics cos i got it dirty on the drive home and he might polish me off :notme: for doing so

Took it down to Shark HQ to get an STS unit and a set of before/after dyno runs, neither of which were available when I had it remapped last year. The car hadn't been pulling as well since it was serviced in May, and I was wondering if they'd done any updates that had overwritten the remap. It's all back as it should be now: 200 bhp & 438 nm (323 lb/ft) :)

Is Shark's not a 4WD RR? Notice that the results are under 2WD mode?

Ben set it that way as the Haldex and dyno setups try to correct each other's behaviour. The dyno tries to equalise the speed for front and rear rollers but the Haldex tries to send more power to the rear..

It was nice to see even with the 'before' run it's delivering a little over the original quoted HP & torque figures (175hp vs 170 & 368nm vs 350), and Shark's dyno has a reputation for reading lower than others. It seems spot on to me, given the before & after values.

Turned alarm chirp off when locking/unlocking the car. So loud :(

Then a quick wash.

Borrowed the father in laws jetwash (the one I bought him last year :-) ) and cleaned it!

Replaced the timing belt and water pump four years and 60k miles since the last one was fitted. Interesting to note that the water pump was beginning to leak ever so slightly, so it's a good job I'm a fussy buggah when it comes to maintaining my car and caught it before it got any worse.

Also treated her to an oil and filter change, so should be good for a little while now.

Cleaned it and took it to a local motorcycle meet because i was in the area :D

Popped over to see ChrisRS so the car could get some love! Looking lovely and sparkly although less so after the drive home through the rain...

The beading on the bonnet through the rain was quite mesmerising ;)

No payment was requested so I added a voluntary donation to his justgiving page as it's definitely a worthy cause. Much appreciated!

Also met up with silver1011 and had a look at his lighting issues. Managed to restore stock config and then correctly code in his rear LED clusters, just waiting to here if removing the resistors have fixed the bulb out warning since the change!

Gained a new "feature" heater flap motor has decided to stick at fully hot at all times.

It's winter here so it's not as bad as it could be, but apparently it's fiddly to get to. Should be fun.
