if i had the money i would be driving a vw right now or preferably an audi, as it is i coiuld afford what i wanted with a skoda badge on it so that is what i bought. if the fact that i would rather be driving a vw or audi makes me stupid and blinkered then i am affraid i will have to agree with you as my plan is to change to the massively over priced audi equivelent in a year or so (hopefully an rs4 but probably s4) to drive around in my confused, blinded overpriced state of mind but i will (hopefully) be happier.

Do you even understand what I was getting at with that quote? 99.9% of VW and Skodas shared parts are built in the same factory. So as pretty much all of VAG breakdowns are down to component failiure. How does that make Skoda any more reliable? Fabias suffer from same problems as Polos, Octavias same as Golfs, its all relative.

You don't need to tell me how much an A3 costs, I work for Audi. A Volkswagen Golf Hatchback 2.0 FSI GT 5dr retails at £18,200, the equivalent A3 Sportback 'Sport' is £19,820. For the slow people here, thats £1620 more. Most A3's clear a £2000 premium on the Golf. Its a trend that follows accross most of the range.

Personally, I feel its a premium thats worth it considering A3 values are pretty much bulletproof and its a better car than the Golf (only just though).
