Don't sell it what ever you do ! ! !

If you don't need the money or the space just look after it for a few more years and enjoy it..

I've sold to many cracking cars in the past and regretted doing so everytime.

5 years ago I sold an original Renault 5 Turbo 2 mid-engined one of only 23 left in the country for £11,000 to a bloke from california

You can't pick one up like it now for less than £30,000!!!!! :

Did the same with a mint Porsche 911 Turbo, Lotus Exige, Mark1 Escort RS1600 & Mk2 Escort RS1800 plus others

So take it from me that car is an investment that you won't loose on and it will give hours of enjoyment to you and Skoda fans alike.

I've just bought a Skoda Octavia VRS with the intention of keeping it for enjoyment and an investment, even though it is an estate.

There's enough of us on here talking you out of selling or breaking it......Listen, please, please, please

Used to see the Red one most days when I worked in High Street Kensington a couple of years ago. Be interesting to see if it's the same one.

Remember what happened to yours after you sold it though Gerry, you must have been at least a bit gutted/annoyed?

Having it as a Briskoda track car would be a lot of fun but it would probably be better tuned down a bit, I can't imagine 400bhp through the front wheels would be driveable on most tracks

Yes, I remember only too well what happened to mine, but as I had sold it, it was not mine to worry about, why would I be gutted/annoyed, I had owned that well known car for over seven years, I felt more sorry for Trev, who was gutted when it happened as he had wanted my car for a long time.

Now here is a suggestion, why not try and tempt Des with a straight swap:- The Red Devil in straight swap for a mint, low mileage, "UN-MODDED" Mk1 Octy vRS, the newer the better, perhaps a few £££££'s his way, or if it's a real minter then a straight swap.

Think I am off my trolley, try him and see what he says??????????

Why low mileage, mint and unmodded? I'm easy, or so they say.

I know whats happened to mine as well, recently seen 6 years after I sold it. I was on the verge of buying it back and would have had the logistics not proved so difficult.

I'm probably the only person on this site who can empathise with Des.....

I can completely understand why he wants to sell it and move on. I have had very similar thoughts regarding mine too!

I use mine every day, and while it sounds fun having 440bhp to play with, the reality of it is something else. The running costs, general maintenance and the dread of something major going wrong.....which invariably will when pushing this sort of power out of what is essentially a little 4 cylinder engine.

Once you've gone to the limit with what is feasibly possible the enjoyment diminishes somewhat... Or maybe I'm just getting old.

Either way Des you have an amazing car, but if you're not using it, what is the point in keeping it. I use mine every day, when I don’t, then I'll sell it for that S5/RS6....

Steve :)

I think the main problem is pricing such a unique car. I think its going to come down to you having to make a very hard decision about just how much your willing to sell it for then taking it from there and seeing if anyone is prepaired to pay that amount and if not you resolve to keep it.

TBH, I am not short of a few bob so price is not the issue. However I would like to see it go to someone that would persevere with it, if I find the right person I will let it go for silly money. If I cannot find anyone willing to take it on them I will have no alternative but to break it.

Keep it you knob, remember what happened to Jerrys' "faint hearted" one!

Oi Steptoe keep out of this, your Mk1 Octy vRS was obviously toooooo powerful for you, so you bought a Mk2

Trev, you keeping well???
