If fact I don't think she even knows what cars we have...

Mind you I haven't mentioned the Bayside Blue R34 that's turning up at the end of the month.

 

As far as she is concerned, I've worked my rear end off to build the business up so providing the family is OK she doesn't care.

No, but we have a few options.

The stronger synchro is now going into production and an upgraded gear set is looking likely next year too.

JDR are happy they can sort it.

 

It only needs to handle a bit more torque.

It's currently 500bhp/470lb/ft.

 

Most likely it'll end up with 700bhp/580lb'ft or thereabouts.  Guesstimate!

They are.

Less than a week before they shifted their workload around to fit an LSD to one car, which then went on to perform faultlessly at Snetterton with no issues.

When the guy who runs the business is there spannering and machining parts where required it gives you confidence.

 

And yet their labour rate is the same as the other tuners out there that just fit parts...

 

Obviously anything bespoke costs money.

Such is the nature of things.

But they can do almost anything, or know someone that can.

And as the Yeti and Fiesta prove, they know how to set up and balance a car too.

Which is to be expected when they are running several race cars for people, including some really serious stuff!

Great philosophy and one I apply to everything in life, shame the spinal tap reference will be lost on most of the younger members but essentially if its broke don't just fix it make it exponentially better so you see some benefit from having the pain of fixing.

Amusingly this did occur to me today.

With similar power and torque the Yeti will be quicker.

Mainly because it'll be 200kg lighter...

 

As the R32 drives so nicely and is mainly a road car (full interior, radio, air-con etc...) it'll probably stay as it is.

Engine all checked and the good news is no block scoring, meaning this block can be used for the forged engine which saves a few ££££.

Richard, when I see the picture with the broke piston rings, it's hard to believe that the cylinder surface is intact.

Otherwise the solution is to bore to 83mm (Wössner pistons) eq. 2510cc.

That's very lucky, especially considering It was driven home after the track day.

At least it will be much faster and lighter after the winter break.

Just caught up with this (again!) and because you broke it it's going to have more power?!

Sorry to hear about this Richard, but it mean the yeti RS is about to be a RSR and this in only a good thing lol.

Thanks for letting me hAve some brake fluid at snetterton, was meaning to have come and have a proper chat with you but serious problems with the car meant I had to shot off to unit 18 before it closed.

Looking forward to when the cars fully working again.

Thought i would come say hello on this thread. We are very much looking forwards to undertaking the upgrades to Yeti RS over the winter!

Erreesse, the bores are slightly damaged from the broken rings. We just did an initial check to make sure there is no serious damage that wont be removed when going 0.5mm over on the bore. The engine build work is being outsourced to a proffesional engine builder who has very good experience with the Audi engine and has his own custom designed parts.

Yeti panels arrived today.

 

 

Quality is good.

Some small imperfections but nothing serious.

 

 

 

 

Plan now is to get them on the car and then painted to keep the stealth look.

 

Just going to paint the outside so the carbon will be visible when the door or bonnet is open, which I think is a nice touch and shows what the car really is to those that have a close look.
