So do I, it's quite good fun taking the Yeti out on the public sessions.

Blowing away three EVOs last year springs to mind.  :D

Yes and going off road to avoid the idiot in the BMW also springs to mind. :D

Once this is finished, are you going to need wider and stickier tyres? Are you still using the 595's, do think these will cope?

The car should also be 80-100kg lighter so I think it'll be OK, we'll have to see.

While it might have an attention grabbing extra 200bhp, part of that will be from adding 1,000 usable rpm.

The torque will probably climb but a lower figure, maybe 100lb/ft.

I run the Federal RSR for normal track days, playing etc as they are good in any conditions and not daft prices, which helps when the Yeti eats a front pair every 2 or 3 hours of use.

Basically a front pair and half way through a back pair per track day due to no aero, it's all mechanical grip.

If it's a timed event like How Fast I generally pop a set of AO48s on as they are better, but more expensive.

All this bling can only mean more power, without trawling through the all the previous posts, did you find an uprated gearbox to tame all the horses?  or have you gone sequential?

The weak link on the gearbox is the synchro on 1st and 2nd.  I've had stronger ones made.

Also the 5 pot cars out there tuned have not had issues like mine, unless running very light flywheels, so I am going back to something a bit heavier to see if that helps.

Although power will rise from around 500bhp to 700bhp, torque won't go up a much due to the engine revving higher to make the power.

I expect we'll see a rise from an estimated 470 lb/ft to 550. (guesstimate)

From other cars with this engine that have been tuned I'm hoping we won't run into major gearbox issues.

I don't want sequential as although it's faster, the Yeti is about fun more than outright speed.  So I'd prefer to keep to a manual.

It most definitely is a FUN car LOL!

only going from 500 to 700 lol, is that all  :p  I see where you are coming from with BHP vs Torque, you are probably right. Yeti RS a fun car you are right again, it certainly put a smile on my face when we were at Castle Combe in the the motor cross final coming into camp corner  :D  it also brought a lump in my shorts  :peek:

I am looking forward to catching up at CC in April.

Says the man upgrading it to 700 bhp lol. Can't wait to see this finished Richard, keep checking the project everyday for updates.

Yes.

Me and the wife had a red one each (the twins the thread was about) and then the Yeti RS came along later.

So you're thinning the herd? how many car do you have now? or is that a secret to keep us guessing :D

So after 4 years of ownership, one of the cars that starting my fascination with the Yeti goes off with it's new owner.

Longest I've ever kept a car.

Crazy when you think it's outlived every GT-R etc... I've ever had.

Such a great all round package.

Just the Yeti RS for me now, and the Wife's 1.2 DSG...

Are your airbags deleted to save on weight?

I've deleted all my electrical wiring for the ABS but not sure if running without the ABS ECU will cause any other systems to fail.

It should throw up a warning light on the dash.

Running on the stock ECU you might not be able to switch the light off.

Some airbag warnings you can delete with VCDS, but some you can't. (From what I remember)

Sorry, ABS should have been airbag in above post!

So your Airbag ECU (located next to the gearbox shifter on the TTRS) is not connect, correct?

I don't mind warning lights in the dash, I've was reading in another forum that the ABS won't work if you disconnect the Airbag ECU.
