How is this progressing? Very interesting build!

 

 

Stronger gearbox synchros arrive this week.

Once they are here gearbox can be finished and attached to engine, then engine can be fitted.

Then exhaust to check for greater power capacity and ECU/map to sort out.

 

Parts delays have mean it's taken ages.

I think it's about 10 months since the piston ring went.

Good job it's not my only car!

The firm that did the Synchros did 3rd instead of 2nd...

 

So yet ANOTHER small delay why they make the right cog.

 

Not going to be there for Brands. :dull:

Ah balls, you might need the stronger 3rd as well though with the new power figures. Shame it won't make it to brands now. What do you think you'll take instead?

May I ask which one of your many thoroughbreds will be at Brands?  I will be there with the camera and a crash helmet....   :happy:

Yes

The Elan would have been a good choice but Jake's car will suffice  :D

Nice one Richard, does this mean BTCC privateer next season?.. :D

It's not, in short.

Until the engineers deliver 2nd Syncro we can't put the large collection of bits we have back together.

 

Which is very frustrating.

It's actually been off the road a year now.

Sad news indeed Richard, I know how much joy this car brings to you (and everyone else I have to say) so I hope they finish the syncro soon!

Shame. It was only yesterday that I happened to flick through an older Evo Magazine and saw the Yeti as 'star of the show' in an Evo track day article :)

Well it used to eat 1st and 2nd so probably yes.

Although you generally use 3rd + on track I'll have more RPM now so will hold lower gear longer.

At Druids, Brands Hatch, for example you'd want 2nd to shoot out of the corner.

 

I just can't see the point in going all this way and potentially having to open it up again.

Will get hte race cars done for the 2017 season and then finish this off once the part turns up.
