The Twins. (And Yeti RS)

Featured Replies

Thanks Guy, really appreciate the offer but I think I've settled on not wanting to change the springs. Since my last post I've also had a moment of clarity and realise why my rear felt more playful than normal when away... Frankly its too embarrassing to mention so we'll leave it there and get on with 'the twins' doh!

Nice pics,

Just seen a blast from the past for me.... Volvo 240 estate.

I used to have a blue 240 GLT estate and I would have one again tomorrow

MPG was 18/19 at best but the turning circle was unbelievable.

Might go on the hunt for one, if theres any left in road worthy condition :giggle:

Carbon seats back in.

They can't be very comfortable for chugging down the M11 though Richard  :D

They are OK for about an hour and a half, then I get a slightly numb left leg and have to move about a bit.

They are rather good for not falling out of them when chasing down Aston Martin DB9's in your diesel Yeti at Brands Hatch though. ;)

Lordy I bet he was cursing if he ended up staring at that towbar B)

Edit: just watched your video, looks like most people got a good look at it over the course of the day.

He got a good look at it a few times.

I overtook him 2 or 3 times during various stints. :)

I'll dig out some more footage in a day or so, the vid above is my clearest session when I could go for it with less overtaking.

I did get passed by a mate in his R35 GT-R, a Radical and a Ginetta race car though.

The GT-R followed me to make a vid of how the Yeti was moving around in the corners too, that should make decent viewing.

Shame on you Richard

I now know the brake lights flash under certain circumstances.

Blimey! Postman Pat has changed a bit since my day.

He's on performance related pay now. ;)

There is literally nothing not to love about that video, brutally quick Skyline giving us a great view of a red Yeti munching everything on track.

Sterling work.

That video was great Richard, though you almost lost the front end at about 8 minutes

The Red Yeti of yours is just slightly faster than my red Land Rover.

Accelerating away from traffic lights reminds me how slow my Freelander is.....

This is so wrong on so many levels but then again if it was me in the track day cars with go faster stickers on I would have left the circuit in shame

Yeti now has to be developed too as it is a great start point to be the ultimate sleeper

Thanks.

The back got a bit light and thought about coming round, so I had to do a smidge of corrective steering.

It did the same once or twice in the external vid too.

That's why it's so much fun.  You have to keep the Yeti under control as it likes to move about a bit.

I like Paddock Hill bend.  It's far better in the car than it looks.

We all know that Richard is not a novice when it comes to some track action, and there's been many a work day I've wasted enjoyed watching him blast round Coombe and the likes, but the Yeti never ceases to amaze me, the power coming out of those bends is fantastic for a Massey Ferguson powered van  :bandit:  ;). Richard likes a rumble strip or two but even so, it just breezes round.

James, between Lee (Yeti Man) and Richard, they both have more than adequate sleeper Yetis   and don't go giving Richard any more ideas

Have to say Richard, that's really impressive driving! The car really does do well out of the corners and I always ask the Quattro lovers who slate haldex 'have you actually driven a gen. 4 haldex car?' And yes, the beauty of the longer travel suspension set up is that you can quite comfortably clip those kerbs and not be thrown off line. :) Brilliant to see it mixing it with the more established track weaponry! :)

Combination of good driving with good lines and the Yeti being so capable. Very impressive and with similar mods as you'd do to most other Skoda's like RARB and a map and it's fantastic. Plus no one expects a Yeti to be passing them, let alone so easily.

Dear Mr Fox

Having read this thread, and the Citigogogigglygogogagagaaaaaaaaaah thread, I have come to the conclusion that you, Sir, are absolutely bloody bonkers.

Keep taking the tablets, and keep up the good work ;-)
