Arriving Saturday my new Octy VRS DSG!

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Taking delivery on my new baby on Saturday. Well excited. It's a race blue VRS DSG. I did try and change to alcantara interior after ordering but was told it was too late. It's a week 6 build so not sure what the interior will be - carbon or silver? Will I get the oil kit??

Will keep you guys posted and put up some pics ASAP. Any suggestions welcome!

Plastic carbon inserts and oil kit.

Enjoy :giggle:

Hope they are both the full fat petrol variants :-)

I've got the diesel VRS, Had it for a week now, What a great car,

I'm sure you will enjoy yours

Oil burner for me.

Traded in my 07 Fabia VRS for the Octavia.

Only covered a few hundred miles so far - can't wait to get 10K + miles on the clock

Looks smart the VRS. Enjoy.

Nice one on the new vRS they do look good in race blue enjoy

Hi all! Complete newbie to Skodas here but am thoroughly enjoying my race blue 2011 Octavia 2.0FSI DSG VRS Estate. Traded in my 9 year old Merc C270 CDI, which I was sad to see go as it was a lovely, reliable, sedate, quiet and cheap (contrary to popular belief!) car.

Have been well impressed with the level of refinement in the Skoda and was glad the salesman told me to try out sports mode on my own i.e. without the wife!! Glad I also got the bi-xenon headlamps, bluetooth phone, etc. Can't really fault it to date. Not as quiet or sedate as the Merc but a lot of fun!

Fitting a Westphalia towbar soon (self-fitting) but will get electrics installed by an independent (not my strong point). Have just got a spare wheel for it (instead of the squirty rubber solution!) and was impressed that it is not a 'space-saver' wheel - although it still has the 'idiot' stickers on it!! (don't exceed 50mph, etc).

Hopefully you'll be as impressed as I have been!

Gutted! Went to pick it up Saturday- had a scratch on the bumper!

Stealer will fix it and deliver it on a flatbed tomorrow. Will have to give it a thorough inspection.

????

Actually, I wonder if that is common, I was in my dealer today picking up the paperwork for the one I ordered last week, and as I was interested originally in going for the rallye green, (I have gone for white again!) they said that the green demo had just arrived, so I went for a look etc and they said that it had also arrived with scratch on the bumper, so maybe its worth checking and new ones with a keener eye before accepting delivery.

Either way I hope you love the car I currently have a TSI DSG variant and I love it, its a great car, but its killing me at the pumps so I have just ordered a CR TDI DSG instead, I will miss the petrol as its an awesome car!

Happy to pay the premium to run my gas guzzler

Instead of buying new cars I think someone should buy mine. Basically new but with the bonus of me sucking up a load of depreciation. Haven't had any interest in mine at all. Enjoy the cars guys.

Ditto. I picked my petrol vrs up last Saturday morning (remapped saturday pm ... Mod number 1) and haven't stopped grinning. life's too short to worry about the cost of fuel. Now I start on the rest of the mods Im going to do to it.

Finally got my grubbies on the keys yesterday evening. Came to my workplace on a flatbed. Scratched fixed perfectly and it looked gorgeous. I think they threw in a wash!

But didn't get a chance to admire fully or drive properly as had a 7 mile traffic filled commute back home.

Came with new look black (not carbon fibre by any stretch of the imagination!) inserts which I prefer to the silver, oil refill pack on boot and 7 miles on the clock.

Will take some pics this weekend and hopefully take it for a spin.

Pictures!!! ;)

Trying to post pics but can't seem to find a way! Do I need to post online first then paste a link?

Put them on somewhere like photobucket, load them up and then copy and paste the IMG code once you go back to the pictures, its simple enough, but sounds complicated, I know when someone first explained it to me it sounded complicated but its not.

Hope this helps, looking forward to seeing your pics :-)
