Want.

That is all.

I had to go to a hospital appt in London today 112m round trip! Never ridden in anger through London and that was and experience!

Stuck on my step dad's tom tom rider without a charging lead but it lasted and worked well

Also stuck the go pro on for a bit of sight seeing and to catch the moment when a taxi driver or bus driver tried to kill me,

Soon found myself filtering like a courier and slightly ashamed of it :(

Still quite entertaining looking at the sights and riding down the embankment

Firstly a quick snap of my ****hole of a garage at the moment :D

2014-09-24121158_zps648da9cb.jpg

My porch has a roof now, so just tomorrow then hopefully water tight new house and a free garage again.

Spent last week commuting on the CB, making the most of the weather. Went a slightly longer way to work compared to the car and I used £10 over 5 days compared to £25 in the car. It's still a ballache though, getting dressed, move the car back, getting the bike out the garage etc etc. For anyone with a longer commute or going through city traffic the time would be made up but my commute is too short and traffic free. I dont think I'll keep it up through winter but through the summer it makes a nice change.

I've had the bike for a couple of weeks now, still loving it. The bikes a great all rounder, I can ride to work and not take it above 4,000 rpm and just plod along or give it some stick on a sunday round the back roads. When I say give it some stick, I've yet to explore anywhere near it's full potential but it's nice going for a ride with mates and not get left behind all the time. The pull still shocks me when I launch it from a stop, getting pushed against the pillion seat, crazy stuff. I also forgot about the bike shop we went to having this on their wall in the cafe

My bike! I'd love that in my garage!

Met my brother taking his bike for MOT. Stunned that it failed :dull: Only on;

Unsecure front o/s indicator

Unsecure rear o/s indicator

Unsecure rear n/s indicator

Unsecure number plate

Unsecure grips

Front pads too low

He reacted in typical fashion throwing his toys out the pram, even more so when I sided with the tester (who in all fairness done well not to lump my brother). With the help of one of the blokes at the garage he has sorted the majority with cable ties and just needs the pads tomorrow for the retest. I couldnt be doing with arguments and he started to annoy me so come home.

Hopefully the nice weather will hold out till saturday, want to ride down to London and meet my uncle for a ride now he has the CB. :sun:

Haha I really don't know how you tolerate your brother, family is family I suppose

I make light of him on here but in reality he upsets me. He can be such a nice lad, good sense of humour and generally nice to be around but most of the time he's just being an idiot. No work ethics, no morals, no respect, thinks the world owes him something, no doubt you've seen 100's of him in your line of work.

Earlier he was stressing about how out of order it was that the bloke failed it on the pads, he couldnt grasp the fact that fail or pass it needs new pads in the next few miles whatever. Then he was saying how if he'd know the pads that were fitted at the start of summer would be mullered by now he'd have got better ones, yet he was still phoning up to order the cheapest ones he could get again! He cant afford to run a push bike let alone a sports bike but there's no telling him.

We have a row, I tell him to bugger off and he's on his own then we dont talk for months. Eventually I check up on him, he'll be starting to sort himself out, then a few weeks later it all starts again. As you say he's my brother and I cant change that.  :|

Yeah frustrating mate, you can't help some times if it was an acquaintance you'd forget about them but it's family!

All you can do its try and guide him along the straight and narrow and see what happens I suppose

Lad I used to live next door to had a moped and I've lost count of the amount of hours I spent putting it back together for him and getting it going only to find him doing doughnuts on the playing field and giving two of his mates backies with no lids, tried with the old come on use your brain but it just wouldn't go in! He eventually crashed it into a bus outside my house and set fire to it to try and claim the insurance which .............,.......................... He didn't have

Well I met up with my dad today, he took the bike for a spin. We had a chat, he's just as bad (actually nowhere near :D) His MOT ran out 2 weeks ago on his bike and he didnt realise. Silly billy. He loved my bike though, think he fancies something newer next year, he loves his bandit but it's getting on now, it's quite top heavy too, especially going from mine to his it's noticeable. After we had a chat and a coffee I noticed I was round the corner from my Motorcycle training school, went to see my instructor, had a catchup with him and arranged to take him down the ace with us in spring, he's never been so should be a laugh. He took the CB out for a spin and loved it. :D

Went to meet my brother again after, he was going for his retest. Cable tied everything that wobbled and got new front pads so it passed. While we was there I was eyeing up a 10 plate Z1000, very nice bike! Same kinda style as mine, I parked next to it and a Speed triple so it looked like a group test :D

I've done a deal with my brother, if he leaves the Wing mirrors on I'll order the fairing indicators for his bike (£7 for china). If he takes them off before the new bits arrive he isnt getting them though so we'll see what happens.

Grr666 likes the z1000 a LOT. But the faired one, not the naked one.

Brother got pulled over last night and asked where the tax disc is for his bike as it's showing as 'tax not held'. He told her he binned it because you dont need them anymore, the copper gave him a producer :D Good to see all is working well, I dont understand what he is suppose to produce? It's taxed until next June and showing as such on the .gov website. Most amusing, I wish I was there.

Lulz.

I just took my tax disc off, but I'll be keeping it under the seat in case Dibble stops me because computer says no.

Trust DVSA to balls this up, it's been computer-based for years already!

Edited by Ben90

How the FACK does a copper not know that its no longer necessary to display a tax disc anymore whatever the computer says????. Kinda glad I'm not going to be on UK roads for afew more weeks. It will hopefully have gotten over it's teething issues by then.

You are a very confident rider that's obvious but some of that filtering I was almost covering my eyes :peek: bit too risky for me but then again im not riding in London regulary :D

Yeah I know, seems to be the only way to make any sort progress. I started very cautiously and i soon found myself doing this!

Not proud,

I havent watched every minute of it but what I did watch just looked like normal London filtering tbh. The only bits I'm not sure about is the passing the car nearest a crossing (I've always thought that was a no no but could be wrong) and crossing the solid white lines, only because of the chance of getting caught as they have cameras watching some of them (on bridges mainly I think) Most of the traffic was stationary, not like you were smashing through 25 mph traffic at 50mph.

When I was following my mate (ex courier) my belly was doing flips at some of his moves!

I want a bigger bike, so the time has come to start progressing with my license.

Next stop Theory test.  Any pointers from those who have recently taken it?

Na, you'll walk it. Do a couple of practice tests online and the haazzard perception if you've not done it before.

When did you do your car theory?

The bike ones very similar, just with a couple of bike related questions

I never took a theory test, it wasn't required when I learn't to drive.

Just done the 2 tests on the DVLA website, 47/50 on both tests, my failings seem to be 1st aid related, luckily I'm on my part1 pediatric 1st aid this weekend :) .

Now to look for some hazard perception tests to try

Oh. Youll be okay though mate. Its mostly common sense really.

Hazard perception is abit of a pain, just because in that situation, everythings a hazard lol.
