Yeah Matt

Excellent write up and good to know you are loving the new bike.

Defo up for a Brisky Biker Meet. Maybe overnight (doesn't have to be camping, even a dorm type barn thing might be cool) then we can have a couple of

Went out on a great ride yesterday, 250 odd miles. Checked my mpg for the fun of it. I would say the ride is typical for me I got 43pmg which is pretty good I think considering I don't ride the bike with any thought of mpg :giggle:

Some good roads up by Snowdon and North Wales :P also know of a few camping barn kind of things up there!

Always up for a few beers!

Some Merino base layers coming up this Thursday at Aldi  Among cheap cans of GT85, neckies, balacalavas and the like.

The Frank Thomas and Ghostbikes stuff looks good though!

I picked up some weise inner gloves too, they help a bit =/

Urgh. I dont know whether i told you guys, but my indicators stopped working on my way home from picking the viffer up.

I took it back a few days late and after the shop testing everything else they changed the relay and all was good.

Well they stopped working again this morning on my way to college.

Had a few bad thoughts throughout the day as iv never had an indicator go once, let alone twice in a month. I was worried about alsorts!

Got home, took the bike apart to find the relay wasnt even clipped in. The shop must have plugged in the relay, but not well enough for the clip to clip in, so the vibration slowly released the relay.

Plugged it back in properly and it works perfectly. Winner! Happy birthday to me, saved myself a few quid there! Haha.

Its bad when the highlight of your birthday is saving a few quid on a fix haha.

I'm only poking fun as it was his birthday not long ago (as mentioned in this thread). Don't worry he has a fair head start on you. I was working a night shift on my 22nd.......... sucked! This year will be first time I have not been working or away for work on my birthday since my 17th! Had I not resigned that would not be the case again muwhahahah WIN!

I thought I'd stalled mine recently on 2 separate rides.

Turns out the + connection on the battery had vibrated loose and having

electronic fuel injection it made the bike cut out. I only went looking there as I

was having problems with the navigation unit cutting out when I went to see Stonehenge

on Sunday. Crimped a circular connection onto the wire this time around and all seems well now.

Getting ready to mothball the bike for a month starting Friday although I'd quite like to get one last

ride in before I go away.  Maybe I'll hire a bike for a day or two once we are away.

A common problem for random cut outs i believe. Its nice when you discover these things yourself though isnt it. Nice sense if achievement!

Yeah i remember reading something but cant remember any figures hahs.

Yeah. Sucks indeed. Should be law to have a day off on your birthday. I was pretty lucky i spose. It fell on a sunday last year when i was religiously doing 14-15 hour days, 6 days a week.

I haven't worked on my birthday for over 25 years. I will not do it.

Don't mind working Christmas, bank holidays etc but my birthday is off limits.

He's like 50 or something :P I have not had a birthday as such for ages now and I am not overly well at the moment, so doubt it will be any different to the last ones. Last Christmas was also the first one I wasn't working on since I turned 17, just by pure chance of how shifts etc fell.

What do you (and the rest of you) actually do on your birthday? I have become one of the cynical humbug types, of seeing it as just another day.

Depends what I fancy, to me that's the point. Can't do what you fancy if you are at work.

1 year I vowed only to eat cake and no other type of food for the 24hrs that made up my birthday.

1 year I spent nearly the entire day playing drums.

Another year I spent the day at a track day.

Couple of times I have been to gigs on my birthday. (Or quite near to, PANTERA in 2000 was a blast)

Sometimes I go away, (usually Amsterdam but there have been other places too)

If I'm at home Mrs grr always makes a big fuss of me. (Can't say too much more on that...) and as

well as all the unmentionables there's usually a nice meal out (I like a nice steak) and some nice gifts.

Then there's also dressing up for grown ups ;) although just lately the leathers I'm wearing regularly

seem to have been having the desired effect... The wife usually takes the day off too so I am waited on

hand and foot on my birthday.

In the single days before Mrs grr there were smoking sessions with the boys that cheech and chong would be proud

of, or I'd spend the day at the rehearsal studios with whatever band I was with at the time.

Or just good old fashioned going out on the razz trying to score a birthday blowie from any young lady

that I could find that was up for it.

I really look forward to birthdays.

Making my jealous now! Can't even remember the last time I got a birthday present! I do get the odd card though. But usually months later when I next visited family.

Tbf I look about 85! Very hard paper round

I like working on my birthday, I'm a typical bah humbug kind of person. At least when I'm at work, no-one knows when its my birthday (unless I tell them).

I've always enjoyed working bank holidays/xmas etc as it means we are really quiet at work so I can put my feet up and chill out for the day, however, I'm now looking forward to having those days off & spending it with the wife & kids now they're of an age where we can do something.  For the record, I don't like christmas or believe in the giving/receiving of gifts but it's nice to spend time at home chilling out.

I'm bah humbug about pretty much EVERYTHING else.

But on my birthday, ANYTHING goes.

Youve got it sussed mate. This is what birthdays should be like!

Id of liked the day off, but with an exam next monday i couldnt risk missing out at college tbh. If it was work, id of blagged a off haha.

I dont like being the centre of attention though tbh. I dont want parties or anything. I had family round for a nice meal sunday night, and my mate from up the road dragged me out for a few beers and an indian takeaway with him and his girlfriend. So that was nice.

Other than that. I was just happy my indicator fault was such an easy fix haha

Just been to a local business who make sheds and ordered one for my bike to stay nice and dry this winter rather than the 2 covers I am using at moment on it. 14ftX7ft with double doors at 7ft end, shelf down side and across back and 2 windows up one side (which I need for light but will cage off on inside,. Will be built in 2-3 weeks and delivered/erected (old one taken away). Should keep me busy now for next wee while emptying old one and storing the 9 wheels and tyres I have in it about the place.

Urggghh, I've got a nice big garage but it's got a bloody kitchen taking up 75% of it. Just enough room to fit the bike in but no space to move about. The house it's for is almost built now so fingers crossed it'll be out the way in the next month or so.

I will get bike in but all the garden stuff and 8 alloys and 1 steelie to squeeze in too, won't leave much room. Half of shed will just be the bike fitting in alone! So some jenga is in order. Not sure what to do when it's in place first thing. Might give the floor a heavy coating and let it dry for a day or 2 before anything else. Also thinking I could fire some insulation in and board off the inside, but might not be best idea if it's not breathing like it's meant to. Shallow peaked roof so could put a ceiling in and fire some insulation up there. Bike in a plain shed if we have a cold winter, I don't think would be enough. That said I might just strap an old king sized duvet to it and fire the covers over :D

I know that feeling.

Hardly any room in ours with the viffer, a r1200gs adventure, a few other bikes and racking. Its a pain!

I feel a show us your shed/garage picture off comming!!!!
