Just found a pic of my old 'widow maker' .

This TL1000 s was just epic! Despite its ledgendary reputation it wiped the floor with my mates Fireblade every ride out.

Yes I sorted the handling well enough to grind the hero blobs off both foot pegs and 'duff up ' anything that thought it was hard enough to take it on. It was the most fun I ever had with my leathers on ! Even rode if down to the costa del sol 3 times.

Preferred it to my R1.

Hmm here we go...

Suzuki GZ125 Marauder - 125cc single

Honda Varadero XL125 - 125cc v-twin that looked like a big bike to the extent that a police man actually stopped me to ask where my instructor was and wouldn't believe me till I pulled out the hand book that it was a 125.

Honda Hornet 600 - Dual renegades and a lot of fun but stupidly small fuel tank

Suzuki GSXR 750 SRAD - Custom full micron high level race system, mille rear end and a lot of fun but the angle sensor caught me out going round a corner killing engine.... that was an eye opener!

F650 GS - 650cc single, never wanted one but after getting stuck in traffic for 7 hours one night I swore i'd not let that happen again. Reminds me a lot of the 'dero but does 65mpg, heated grips, upright riding position and an easy way to do 90 miles a day when not in the Fabia. What's not to like?

My new toy....

Meet the Grandad bike - I think I'm a little young for this bike and I have not met anyone under 40 riding one!

My god does it go though!!

I bought it as a non runner for scrap money, needed a new ecu and loom and its alive!

A guy that I ride with has one of these, in the same colour as well. Brilliant bike and very practical! Yes it absolutely flies but it's just as happy when riding it gently. Such a relaxed ride if you leave it in 6th, you can still progress and make easy overtakes, if you make more use of the box and go down a few for overtakes it's an animal!

Enjoy!

Another pic of me on my TL . Just about to grind my knee sliders at Oulton park.

Would love to be as good as this guy but one can dream lol!

@mr rooney. I had the TL1000R what was the difference between the R and the S, is it just the body?

Ok I know Briskoda is a car orientated forum and I am not trying to take anything away from that hence this is in "Off Topic" I just thought as we bikers occasionally run into each other on here it would be nice to have a clearer picture of who the Briskodian bikers are and what we ride. Any pics and mods listed would also be great.

We have the tech shed and photography sections too that are not specific to cars so I hope this is ok.

Any prospective bikers out there looking for some advice, guidance or general inspiration feel free to ask I am yet to meet a biker who would not be more than happy to pass on any knowledge they have gained over the years.

My first bike was a 2000 Kawasaki ZZR 600 E7 (stock bar double bubble / alarm)

ZZR600%2520Road.jpg

My second bike was a 2002 Suzuki GSXR1000 K1 (must have been late registered) (stock bar arrow indicators and R&G crash bungs / alarm)

My third bike was a Kawasaki ZZR 1200 C1H (RIP) (Oxford 2010 heated grips / Givvi racking and Kappa luggage / Double bubble / 12v socket / alarm)

My fourth and current bike is my Kawasaki ZZR 1400 A6F (Ti-Force 4-1 exhaust system / Power Commander III USB / Oxford orig heated grips / Vented double bunbble / cruise control / Tail tidy / Rear seat cowel / Carbon rear hugger&chain guard / calibrated speedo / LED gear indicator / 12v socket / R&G crash bungs / uprated brakes / alarm)

That was a pit stop before jumping onto the ferry in Holyhead, that days ride started for me in south Holland, was blessed with the weather!

I shall be making the reverse of your trip next month when i head from North Wales through Holland and into the Father Land to play at the nurburgring.

I was only a couple of hours from the ring and I never went while I was there! Eifel region is meant to be epic biking country!

Yes it's great biking around there! My first trip there in 1999 was on a R1 , What a laugh! The autobahn was also a good way to let the bike stretch its legs all the way to 186mph/300kph. Slow for todays bikes but good at the time.

My mate had a 1998 R1 and it was on limiter at 175 lol I was able to do somewhat more. 186 is still all you will get from any stock bike out of the factory though. More than fast enough for me lol! UK riders and drivers have a bit of a reputation for spreading themselves all over the autobahns unfortunately though from silly speeds they are not used to. Army in Germany even had their own safety adverts as a result.

7 hour count down on for me and the NW200 :D

:(

I was getting my SV650 ready for the season, and as it started up, I noticed I have a coolant leak by the water pump cover. I remember the bike was knocked over in the high winds, and so that must have caused a hairline fracture on the side of the engine, and with it started, the pressure gives a nice jet :(

So have to find a replacement cover, drain oil, coolant and change it all. Grrr

Sorry to hear it :(.

Its a good excuse to give it a good service though, a coolant change wont do it any harm.

Yeah, I've really neglected it over the last two or three years - probably done no more than a couple of hundred miles on it :o

I completely rebuilt my brake lines last summer with braided hoses and the difference is amazing. Mind you, that's probably normal compared to 11 year old factory lines!

Front forks also need a full rebuild - still on the original oil so it's horribly spongey. I'd do it myself, but just don't have the space or tools. Was quoted around £160 for that job. But until I sort the coolant issue out, I can't ride it anyway, so that has to be done first unless I get someone to come pick it up.

I've been following this thread for a while now and it's interesting to see what bikes folks have got or previously had. Some crackers on here.

Well, I've been riding for about 30 years or so, started with a Yam YZ50 on my Grandad's farm and that lead me into riding junior moto-x around the country. At 16 passed my part 1 and pretty much gave up off-road for the love of my AR50. That lead into short track road racing, which then lead into proper road racing till late 2006 when I had a season out through injury. The finances ran dry and that was pretty much the end of my racing days. Still got my race bike tucked away in the garage. It's got a daylight MOT on it so it comes out every now and then but due to being a race bike the police take too much interest in it!!!!

Here's a bit of a biking list:

Yamaha YZ50

Yamaha YZ80

Yamaha YZ125

Yamaha YZ250

Kawasaki KX250

Kawasaki AR50

Kawasaki AR80

Suzuki RGV250

Kawasaki KR1S

Suzuki RGV250 - Race

Honda RS125 - Race

Honda RS250 - Race

Kawasaki ZXR400 - Race

Honda CBR600f - Race

Kawasaki ZX600R f3 - Race

Kawasaki ZX7RR - Race

Suzuki GSXR750 srad - Race

Yamaha R1 - Race

Suzuki GSXR1000 K1 - Race

Suzuki GSXR1000 K2 - Race

and the final one, which is still in my garage:

Suzuki GSXR1000 K4. Ex-Uel Duncan Racing. Owned and ridden by Guy Martin in the 2004 Irish Road Racing series, 2004 Isle of Man TT (7th in the senior & Fastest Newcomer)

This is the bike, but it's certainly not me!!
