Need customising ideas that wont scare my insurance!

Featured Replies

So here's the idea, i want to personalise my car and make it look a little better without changing things so much that the insurance company start classing it as modifications, my bank account will never have enough money to cover that!

Id love to lower it, stick on a kit and change the lights etc but its too costly and its just something for the police to pull me over for (even though its inevitable).

Ideas: My furby is black so i wanted the colour scheme to be black and red, i already have a new stereo to go in with red LEDs and Facia etc, i was thinking of changing gear and handbrake gaiters, dial faces, red rally style mudflaps, red interior mood lighting. then do some work on the outside, maybe some pinstriping on the grille and whatever else i can work out.

I work at halfords so i get discount on their stuff. i dont want it to look shabby but at the same time dont want it to break the bank, any ideas???

Pic of my car is attached, any ideas are GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

Red Plasti-dip your alloys and front grill :D

See now I've done a bit to mine and told my insurance company and it cost me £20, That was for changing the colour of the roof & Grill, Induction Kit, Debadge & Alloy Wheels.

Does that include all the ATB stuff? Sounds like a bargain!

The ABT mods I notified earlier that went up £596.92 and then another £20 for the above mods. so my insurance is now £1092 which is still cheaper than my old 106 witch was £1300 work that one out??

I likethe idea of the plasti-dip, i think id do the grill and the trims but maybe the plastic door trim etc while im at it.

My insurance is way higher than thatalready so i doubt it will only go up £20 for me, they do it on purpose but nothing i can really do about it.
