  • Reflection appears to show some old man wearing a bra!

  • Can someone with the new badges post up some before and after dyno curves, please, as I’m anxious to know how many extra horses they are making

  • My original badges were starting to delaminate and were looking tatty so I decided to change them out for the newer black ones. Very happy with how they look and I think the suit a black car nicely.

Introducing the first pictures of an Octavia II FL VRS Hatch with colour coded grill surround pics of completion!

I have my badges and have them fitted to my FL with colour coded grill pics taken on a mates phone as I didn't have mine will take better ones tomorrow or weekend when I put wheels back on with their badges too :)

A massive thanks to Stoofa for getting me the badges very much appreciated!

With a little heat from my car dryer I used my blue nylon trim removal tool I got on ebay for fitting my Columbus and old badges came off with no damage to badges or to paint work at all was very happy about that as you can imagine. Wheel ones go in but are TIGHT to get in there I am unlikely to be able to remove them without some hammering but in and perfect (pics to follow). Front curved badge went on the FL really well with the 3 studs snapped off back with its existing self adhesive ring, I added some more to centre as this was going to have the main contact it looks fine but is a gap to sides if you look really closely but I cant see it coming off even with a power washer. Rear as we know is too big for the recess in which the old one sat and has to ride the edges a little but on top of this I added a centre ring again to the back of the flat badge to have it all adhesive then recovered the back with another layer again over both and trimmed it around and at an angle so as it would not be visible, I also put in the recess some diagonal strips of my 3M double sided sticky foam stuff to take some of the gap up the badge then stuck to these and the edge of the recess well. All is now well almost complete when wheels back on.

Shouldn`t you get your own thread, MINE was the 1st Mark 2 with them, and pictures, yours nearly a month later the 1st FL, :giggle: looks good though ( your mate needs a better phone, my pics are from a phone too)

I thought of it but title didn't specify the old shed version :p but I don't like to look like I am trying to hijack your topic tbh. Mine had to be made in Austria (I think it said) then prob sent to CZ then back ordered because you bought them all to UK then sent on to the Netherlands so did really well for time thanks to Stoofa. :sun:

I am not a fan of the FL and will never have one, :bandit: the rapid and the new Octavia are going Angular again, and they have copied my black roof and a pillars

You should be looking for some royalties for that!!!!! I didn't even know when I ordered mine in late 2010 that the FL existed I had not seen one muwhahahahaha imagine my surprise :giggle:

Having owned both the pre-FL and FL I gotta say I still prefer my newer car. Just a few tweaks in the FL but each and every one of them a good tweak.

Any more recent pictures Dai, you cannot see your unique colour there  Fair play doing some thing different with the badges, but for me it does not enhance it , you need a welsh Dragon, now that would be cool B)

No mate been a bit lazy with the camera recently, but washed it after the weekend and so will try and get some decent quality ones of the paint colour. Really hard to picture though :(. TBH i did think of doing the dragon but would show so little of it behind the badge would have looked like a few little areas of red not a dragon. I wasnt sure when i finished the badges but like them now.

Oh dear you sweated your arse off in the sun, it was raining yet again here :rain: , the road flooded on the moor road cycling home from work . You car does look good if a little high , so has the wheel been redone now

"wheels" (2)

yea 2 of them were off the front but i have put them on the back leaving the better finished ones on front for the higher amounts of brake dust it will be easier to clean them.

Car looks like a monster truck :( when I was lowering the jack today watching the arch gap get smaller I was gutted to see when it stopped lol. But the roads I will likely be using when I move back to UK lower would not be appropriate and might sell it on anyway to help fund a house purchase.

ps. pics taken with my mobile it always seems to make car look a lot shinier than it is in real life but no editing bar plate blanking.

I love your car and its colour.

The only thing I hate are those mud flaps, a no no.

I can't see them being needed in Portugal but in the UK they mean the car stays a lot cleaner and you produce a lot less spray behind you on motorways in the constant rain. A necessary evil im afraid.

Each to their own but not for me.

Looking good. As soon as I saw early pictures of the new badges I just had to have them.

Look so much more stylish than the "green" ones, a lot more modern looking. And if sales are anything to go by, lots of people agree.

Nicely done.
