Fabia steering angle sensor

Featured Replies

Hi

New to this forum and Skodas in general.

Just looking for a little advice please.

The wife has just bought a W reg fabia 1.4mpi, and of course the first time we had to use it at night we noticed that the lights all flicker while the engines running. I think have read all the posts on here re this issue and it helped me greatly to diagnose the angle sensor was at fault (took the pas fuse out and the lights worked fine but made steering pretty tuff though lol).

My question is where is the best place to buy one, there are a few on ebay for around £100 but should i stick to buying from skoda at around £150 :(.

On a different subject it has also been booked it in to the garage to have its drive chain replaced (cost £175 + vat which i think is a decent price dunno about you?) . Its done 112,000 so far and it has developed and awful rattling noise!! Has any one else had theirs replaced? i would like to know what to expect when i pick it up, should the rattle have completly gone? should it idle smother (a little rough at the moment :wonder: )?

Thanks for reading and all your comments areappreciated.

They're all rough at idle, chain noise will diminish but not go away totally, call Rainworth Skoda, part is £97 from memory but they will put a surcharge on for the extra till you return the old one. Two versions exist so they will need the reg/vin, din't just blindly buy one from eBay, the mpi is the less common version with the lead on (or was in my case) so get the genuine part from a genuine dealer but pay eBay money for it.
