Skoda Fabia pre delivery inspection

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have seen a similar old posting under Yeti.

For Fabia does anybody know currently what precisely is checked during pre delivery inspection (if such a thing is done at all) ?

After delivery the tyre presure was 1.6 instead of front 2.0/ rear 2.1

All the fluids ware at their lower limit. And these are the things visible to an ordinary owner. What about things not so easy to be checked by the owner ?

Out of curiosity I took the vehicle to a reputable wheel alignement station, and they found the front left wheel out of alignement (!).

If it has a Sports suspension make sure the Blocks are removed from the front

I would check the wheel nuts yourself.

If you have TPMS (tyre pressure Monitoring System) i would read your Owners Manual,

do your chosen pressures and 'Set' the system.

Do not go Topping up the Coolant System if sitting at Minimum, thats fine,

& it needs 'only the correct coolant' if that is G12 +, then that is what it must be.

(thats for the garage to do if there is a problem and there should not be, it new)

If checking Oil,

then again check the 'Owners Manual', Is it to be a check at Cold oil, or like on a vRS, after brought up to Normal Temp, and then sat a few minutes. ??

Take it easy on the brakes untill the coating is off your discs and the pads are also de-glazed a bit.

Watch your tyres untill the newness is off them, take car if damp or raining untill a few hundred miles on them.

Hand Brake cable will stretch a little so the rear brakes might heat a bit for a few hundred miles.

Running in is more about letting Suspension, Tyres, Brakes all get a little gentle start to life rather than the engine.

Listen & pay attention.

New Wiper Blades & windscreens with possible wax or polish on them the first time it rains, so use your washers a few times.

Just have fun, but still read the Owners Manual front to back..

You can tell not many members do this.

My wife has never read a manual in her life, she just says "I can't get this to work!"

But , hey isn't that what husbands are for.

Tony :giggle:

They fill out a checklist which you should receive with your paper work on buying the car, i received a checklist for a completly different skoda lol

Yes we carry out a comprehensive check prior to delivery (or at least one should be done).

Tyre pressures, levels, etc should all be checked.

Car also arrives in transport mode which needs to be turned off. Then radio coded and stations set.
