Has anyone been given a delivery date for the Blackline Octavia VRS?

Featured Replies

Done it.

Order placed for a white manual blackline estate.

Trading in a 2006 Polo GTI which has given good reliable service but need something bigger now.

Test drove a manual diesel vrs and was very pleased with the power output.

I am pleased with the deal I got and am quite happy to provide a write up about my figures and buying experience, if interested.

Should get car end January.

Cheers.

Hi

The repayments of £179 seem good are you able to either put on here or pm me plse what down payment you had to give and final settlement plse

No problem.

Car price £18,700

LESS:

Trade-in £4,775 (this was pretty good and what I was aiming for from the start - no hassle getting to this)

Deposit paid today £200

Contribution from Skoda/VW Finance £500

Balance £13.225

42 monthly payments £174.56

APR 7.3% (not as cheap as the cheapest bank loan but I am happy with)

Annual mileage limit 7,000 - although I only do 6,000 (personally not worried about DPF/diesel problems and think the diesel VRS *may* be more desirable than the petrol in years to come, keep on hearing big petrol engines are out of fashion)

Excess mileage charged at 7.2p per mile including VAT

For me it was the whole deal I was getting - leather, DAB, rear sensors, 3 free services and the extra £500 deposit. This car is well suited to my domestic situation and funnily I don't feel buyers remorse at the moment!

New to PCP - I know that over the longer term I will end up paying more but worse case scenario, if it doesn't work out for me I will hand the keys back after 42 months, walk away and get my next car via a bank loan.

If you want to know any more let me know.

Cheers.

Cheers for that looks like you got a good deal can I just ask your final settlement figure?

Should have added, getting half a tank of diesel and flexible boot liner FOC.

Dealer/manufacturer finance is usually not the cheapest but I wouldn't have got the £500 contribution or 3 services for free (value £600?) if I decided to finance it through a different route - swings and roundabouts really.

I wanted to restrict the amount I was buying so that is why I went for white (think this looks good anyway) and manual.

For the next three years I will only have a monthly payment to pay and fill the car with diesel, whereas my current car is getting older and another service/cambelt change was looming.

Cheers.

Apologies, £8,763.75

Thats what I've gone for. I wasn't too sure about the whole black wheels thing but my son has a white Fabia Vrs with black wheels which looks stunning and this sold me on the white blackline.

Hi chaps,

I'm pleased for any more of you who can jump on the BL bandwagon- you won't be disssapointed, I can only recommend you join the fun. Just like chappers I'm not bothered if they make more and like Booble it's the best car I've owned. I've just been to Worcester and back in busy traffic. Maxidot returned over 50mpg and I wasn't driving like miss daisey. Just over 1000 miles now and had my 1st partial regen last night (no light on the dash, but the fans were going when I switched it off and I failed to notice the slight increase in tickover which is apparently the tell tale sign so switched the engine off before it'd finished). It smelt a bit hot on occasions back from Worcester so I'm guessing it did the bus while I was out today.

Only thind I 'd say is DON'T buy one if you want a waftingly smooth ride, want to wobble round corners, you've got loads of points on your license already, you fancy the Tottie at the petrol station, hate leather seats or you don't want to enjoy driving agan! :giggle:

I see BA has gone for a PCP, but the 500/free servicing may still also be available on the normal finance if you prefer that (I think mine was 7.9%, which a BA says is dearer than the banks but you get the benefits) but as I paid it off stright away it wasn't an issue to me. I did the rough sums for my package and the £500 contribution was more or less the cost of the finance so even if I'd carried on with it I'd still have got the 3 free services, which as has been pointed out would cost you circa £600.

Overall it's a bonkers deal on a brilliant car

BA it's looks like you decided on a Blackline for similar reasons to me and the deal is very similar, inc the boot liner.

Fyi I have a black estate manual.

The Mrs drove it for the first time today (I am half way to having my broken leg fixed), I was quite worried, but all fine and I think she enjoyed the drive, more power than her fiat 500!

If my missus drove mine I'd probably end up with a broken leg and a ****ed car!

keep on hearing big petrol engines ante out of fashion

My V8 6.3 Ltr Interceptor is hilarious, makes. Me giggle every time I take it out. Road tax fee, £100 to insure 12mpg who cares about fashion ;-)

No one knows how many have been released yet so 500 might be the end number

I strongly suspect that there will be a vastly larger number of blacklines than 500. I seem to remember griffins advertised these a long time before Skoda did and they are still showing them now (albeit with a 'while stocks last' caveat).......

Edit: just seen the post about the additional '200' which kind of makes most of te above irrelevant!

I knew there would be more than 500 built, not quite such a special edition then!

On the contrary - it's a classic 'special edition' model. Stick some extras on and get rid of as many of the old shape cars/parts as possible. Customer gets a good deal and manufacturer doesn't have to try and palm old shape units off on increasingly savvy fleet or foreign markets. Peugeot used to be great at it in the mid/late nineties, selling my brother 106 inca, look, look + models, etc over 3-4 years.

What it isn't, is a LIMITED edition - but we knew that as they are normally numbered. I think quite a few blackline owners have confused the two (hence the requests for badges etc) but this was probably partly skodas fault for stating that only 500 would be available. I'm assuming they never actually CALLED it a limited edition, which woul have been perhaps a little naughty.

Then that's a little cheeky. No different to the DFS sale which 'must end soon' I guess, but still not cricket

Re limited edition issue - I think this should be viewed as a limited edition run (until stock runs out/launch of new style Octavia), either way having a unique stamped number/logo in the car adds no value for me!

Already have a unique number in the windscreen - the VIN!

This is a vrs with a few nice extras chucked in - lovely.

its really what sold the car for me.

Agreed - Black wheels doesn't really 'float my boat' but if that what it comes with...

Doesn't seem right that a dealer can pre-register 2 BL cars to themselves, then not offer a customer the deal everyone else has had.

I have deleted my previous post for certain reasons. Im not crazy honest!

Hi Steph,

I'd get on the phone tomorrow and see what the other dealers local to you have to offer- ask them to look at the natioanl stock (so they know you know what you're on about). This could be a case of the dealer only offering you what they have in stock, rather than what's available- sounds like they've grabbed a couple knowing they can sell them on which is a bit naughty (the way Skoda operate is that the dealer can't take anything from the national stock unless they commit to buy it). I'm not suggesting the following is the case, but this is what happened to me when I was looking to buy my previous Octy- The dealer I bought the car from was looking at the national stock and gave me a price on the model I wanted and a choice of 3 colours. I then went to another Skoda dealer locally on the way back from test driving a civil (horrible car IMO) and the 2nd dealer told me all that was available was a model below the one I wanted, which was rubbish as I knew there were 3 in the national stock in the trim I wanted, they just wanted to sell me what they had. I went back to the 1st dealer and placed my order with them.

If you get no joy from the other dealers It might also be an idea to ring Skoda UK and ask them what the situation is on the Blacklines and tell them what has happened- tell them where you've been and that you've been offered a pre registered car but you want a new one and see what they say. If the other dealers confirm there are some still available in national stock you could give your dealer a rocket and ask them what they're playing at trying to sell you a pre registered car if new ones are available.

The problem seems to be compounded by how Skoda operate as the natioanal stock list as the situation keeps changing almost by the minute which is especially problematic with the supply of limited editions like the blacklines because you never know if/what is likely to become available, which is not good for people who want one, so you have my sympathy

Might be the dealer is trying to pull a fast one here.

Have you test drove one? Having driven it (and your own car) only you can know if its right for you. They must be able to do you a deal surely, but if you do want one, I suspect your options will be limited now as it will be the odd few registered to dealers left.

They are excellent motors though.

Edit: just seen the post about the additional '200' which kind of makes most of te above irrelevant!
