my latest addition - audi paddle shift extensions.

i couldn't justify spending $300 on st2p paddles (audi), or just as much on TID ones.

so i finally found these paddle shifter extensions for audi, at price i can justify - $45 delivered.

haven't driven with it yet, as i just put it on. gotta leave it on overnight to ensure proper contact.

happy with the fit and finish. hope it lasts.........

maniacs were pricey too, and they only did vw shifter, which don't fit.

tid styling were too pricey too.

then i saw these - cost me only $45 AUD delivered!!!

fit is very good around the existing paddle - right shape/curves/size.

haven't driven with them yet, so i can't comment yet on how they'll feel/work on the tips.

feels solid though.

it won't fit.

the paddles on the veedubs (vw) r different (shape/contour).

the skoda paddles r the same as the audi paddles - so u'll need to get ones that fit audi.

These look great, such a good price as well.

It would be great if you can report back on how they are to use, do they flex when using them? especially towards the tips?

They look great. I would be paranoid that they came loose though after some over enthusiastic gear changes. Knowing me id cable tie the buggers on - belts and braces and all that.

Do they feel pretty solid just stuck on?

So I went for a drive to get a feel of the paddle extensions - in summary I'm glad I only paid $45 for them!

Basically pressing the tips don't trigger the shift. There is flex, however not from the extensions, but from the original shifter itself. There is little give/flex on the shifter itself, and so putting the extensions only amplify the flex at the tips.

They respond up to half way up the extensions. Tips r useless.

At least it looks good ;-)

Guess the best solution would b to go with a proper replacement like the st2p paddles.

The other options for you guys do look to be pretty extortionate for what they are!

So as it turns out, I hadn't installed the extensions properly - hence the flex & no response at the tips.

When I first put the on, I did it "top - down".

After some "observations", I removed them and re-installed them, this time "bottom - up".

This ensured a proper contact at the base of the paddle, so now I can trigger the gear change at the tips of the paddle extensions :-)

It's not a solid "click", but we have contact.

Looks good now & does the job.

mine arrived today, now i just need to fit them!

I suspect the first hot weather we get and they would fall off. Might be worth bonding them on with something. They do look good though.
