A5 19x8.5" et32

Featured Replies

Hey guys, new member here!

Wana pick some more experienced brains on any fitment issues with a set of A5 19x8.5" et32 wheels my dad has lying around and Id like to fit up to my RS wagon. we did a test fit todayand it looks like it will be a close fit with the guard. I also have a set of h n r 50mm lower springs that are yet to be fitted.

We will test fit again once they are in n see just how close they get!!

My main questions are has anyone tried this, did it scrub at all- def dont want that!! I no I need to get some concentric rings, but want to see if they will actually get under the guards first :)

I would say that they don't fit from the second picture. The rim stands proud of the arch which is an MOT failure.

Its stillgot a way to go to get to its normal ride height, see the positive camber on the wheel, and how lifted the rear of the car is. But yeah, I think they will b to wide to fit the car without camber, and I will only ad camber for performance, not looks!!! will check again with the 50mm springs fitted though

They would look good though! :)

I beleive its not an mot failure for the rim to sit proud of the arch, it will fail if you can look down and see tyre tread. Hence where stretched tyres came fron, the rim is wide and sits out of the arch then its fitted with a narrow tyre meaning when you look down you only see sidewall! Maybe someone else could confirm either way?

I got 17" with 8.5 with et 35 tyers were 215/45/17 and lowered 20mm the rears caught slightly with 2 in the rear seats looking at 18" the et needs to be 40mm

They won't work or would look a bit silly on the front. The rear might take it but at the front it would be a bit silly. 8.5 and ET45 is more sensible.

Bentley wheels are 9" and ET41 and these poke at the front.

Anything less than ET42 and you're struggling

Use a wheel offset calculator (google it) to work it out. It's the combination of the width and offset together which dictates how much the wheel will poke out (or not).

8.5 and et32 will look silly and rub, which is a shame as they are a nice design.

Hmm, I have a set of 5x112 ET33 8x17 wheels :x Could I have problems later on? ...

Could be tight on the front

Maybe pull/flare the archs a little bit?

They've been done before and most people agreed they look rubbish on the Octavia.

Regarding the fitment, they should just about work with 215s if you can get it low enough - i.e. not just springs and ideally air. Your problem is in that photo, you've got the car sky high so the suspension geometry is making the wheel poke WAY out. You'd be surprised just how much the wheels pull inboard as you get down to some reasonable lows.

Thought they looked alright!

Although I think 18's are big enough on the current Octy?

Are the OE wheels on the blue one, ie same offset as the OP has? Might be reps - they certainly seem to be tucked a lot more?

thanks for all the replies guys!!

I agree I think they would just about squeeze in with a very low set up, but I think they would poke a bit, and Im not a stance boy :). Thats the first pic ive seen with them fitted to an occy, and boy did I google :) thanks!

Ive decided to go for some Klutch wheels. Have h n r 50mm lowered springs ready to go in as well
