Very nice! Does the 245 come with black badges on the rear as standard? They look great against the white paint

No. First thing I wanted to change. Cheers

Just bought an 11 month old 1.5TSI SE from the local dealer - seems a nice car so far although I was only told on the day before I collected it that it was previously owned by Eurocar as a rental .....

13.3k on the clock and 2 years warranty to run though. Everything seems ok apart from the infotainment system hadn't been reset so everything was still looking for the last driver, a missing valve dust cap and for some reason all the wheel nut caps have a white discolouration on  them.  Slight jerkiness when cold but no more than my previous car (Vectra 1.8 SRI 140) - certainly better on the MPG than the Vectra .....

This discolouration will almost certainly be due to strong wheel cleaners having been used.

Wife's Karoq has the same engine as your Octavia and recent trip to Heathrow gave 57mpg going and 59mpg on the return. My best one off commute though for just 26 miles was 63.2mpg so you should improve on the above photo given the better aerodynamics compared to her SUV.:clap:We get the slight hesitation in 1st gear but not as bad now car has done 15,000 miles and less so in warmer weather.

I've got to admint I'm pleasantly surprised by the engine - we've had a few Skodas / Golfs / Passats etc  as company cars before but always diesels. Hopefulyl this engine will be relatively reliable.

Ours has been 100% reliable so far, very little oil used and still 3,500 miles to the first service (which is free along with the second one at around 37,000 miles):inlove:

ÎMy 17 plate 1.0 petrol is in the same condition. Also an ex hire car and running very smooth and quiet. It just took a little while to get used to the Start/stop.  It came with 14k some miles and so far only done about 4k miles. So next service yet to come.

I’d be interested in what the app/tool is...?

So you need a Bluetooth dongle that you plug into your OBD port, this is the one I got.

iLC OBD OBD2 Bluetooth Auto Diagnostic Scanner Tool Reader - Engine Light Check Wireless Data Feed To Your Cell Phone - Compatible With Android & Windows Devices (NOT FOR Apple OS iPhone iPad) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N30RQNH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mm3ZCb5E355D0

Then you need to download the app

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.applagapp.vagdpf

Then you're good to go.

Thanks Stever750. Currently in IOS only so it  ha e to wait till I’ve fixed an android phone to play!

About to become an Octavia owner again, picking up 18 plate 1.0 tsi se estate next week. 14k miles so I guess it was a rental,  but it looks ok and test drive seemed fine.

Well it was a built care in stock at factory. So yes I wasn't lucky only bit I wanted were towbar and spare wheel. As tow a caravan wanted something good for that.

Well I've just discovered a stock of already built Scouts at UK port....and have ordered a Moon White 184 auto with tow bar and reversing camera, with a saving of over £7,000 from the list price showing on Skoda's web site!!!! Should have it two to three weeks too.

  • 2 weeks later...

Picked up my 245 VRS Challenge Estate and love it all the car I need and more, was well worth the 14 week wait

The best colour Stealth Black (so much better than Sleeper Grey:tongueout:).

Just bought a 2015 VRS 2.0 TDI in Stealth black.

3 hrs cleaning the horrendous swirls off but I love it.

I am looking for a VIN number for an Octavia 3 with the 1.8 TSI engine (180 hp), pre-facelift, specifically a model with the 8Z4 code ( Moderate hot country option). I need it to compare the available parts with those for my own car. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate a reply or a PM.

(PS Can also be an Audi A3 with the same engine and climate option ☺️)

Rain here yesterday but warm and sunny today.:emoticon-0157-sun:

His and hers, and the neighbour has a yeti!

The white fabia is a colour edition only option being full size spare wheel. Lovely little car, drives beautifully, good on fuel, has android auto and the wife absolutely loves it! Compared to her previous car, Vauxhall meriva, it was always going to beat it!

Mine is a FL vrs tdi with Canton, black pack plus, heated seats, TSR,DSG and velvet red paint. Probably the best car I've ever had!
