Just got in a bit earlier than usual. Like to get in about an hour before the racing starts, to avoid the queues :p     :D     No updates at the moment kids... but this has happened:

  • Sod it... took it round the block and stopped for some proper pics                   Needs lowering now that it's gained ride hide... but not really got much arch gap to play

  • Thanks buddy     Slight update: The Punisher / black theme is starting to wear thin on me now. I do love the black, but it's starting to look dark grey (rather than the jet black that I love) and

Well I was due to post an update on this weekend's completed bits, but that won't be happening now.

After many hours of messing around with different bits, the end result was me losing my rag and kicking the s*** out of the car (studs went flying) and tossing everything in the garage :@

I am mere milimetres from driving this thing down the road and into the scrapyard. I'm not enjoying this backwards f*** German engineering anymore.

good to see your finally looking after the important bits!!

new scrapyard open in northwood drive can even collect foc

have you sorted the running issue?

have you sorted the running issue?

Nope - it's still running rough. I'm suspecting coilpack, so ringing Skoda in the week to see if mine is due for recall. It's now at the point where the car is only just starting. If the coilpack doesn't sort it, then it's time to plug it in and check for some codes.

Well, I've now had time to cool down and finish everything off. Still getting fed up though - everytime I make progress and start thinking about tuning (zaust, map, etc) something else seems to go wrong :(

Anyway the SAI pump has now stopped doing its impression of a Dyson, so that's one positive...

...and after a lot of faffing around I've finally managed to get the air intake sorted, though still not perfect because I forgot about the crash bar being in the way :wall:

Then fitted my new vortex generators from 'murica. More for show than actual aerodynamics.

Now to dig out a phone number and with any luck get this to Skoda.

SAI will be ditched eventually. Going to wait until I can do a big tidy (N249, etc).

Nah m8 20bhp each at least innit

In other news, I looked at Recaro racing seats on the net. I've never looked before... and won't ever be looking again. HOW F****** MUCH?!?!?! :o

Only a small update, but one that's sorted out a "that doesn't look right and makes me feel sick" itch that I've been having.

P1050377_zps4186a1d7.jpg

Time to sort that out!

Still a small hint of orange in the reflectors, but only noticeable when you stick your nose against the headlight :p

Also, since last week's work (and spending a lot of time under the car) I've decided it's time to do something about the rust underneath. I've got a lot of black paint left over, so I'm going to do some light sanding and Kurust the crap out of it, then paint over certain parts. Of course... it won't solve the problem and it won't stop rust, but it'll at least hold it off. Something is better than nothing and all that :)

Sorry if you have said before but are those projectors?

They are indeed. These headlights are very strange though - the fogs and dipped beams swap places (compared to OEM ones)

Have you sorted out the beam pattern on your headlights?

Nope - it's looking impossible, so I'm going to cheat :P

Now that'd be telling :P I was going to fit the new stuff this weekend, but I've just realised I don't have a certain tool I need... so will have to wait until later.

In the mean time:

Forgot to post my other update, this one being the digital kind:

I'm pretty set on this design - I just need to get the widemouth conversion done and then I can crack on with spraying

Seriously, this car really gets my goat - I must have disconnected a hundred hoses just so I could pull the rocker cover off (let's hope I remember which ones go with which!)

So, I'm continuing my engine refresh and part of that includes cleaning up the cover and slapping on some paint.

Complete filth:

Cov1_zps723248ed.jpg

Cov2_zpse0d711b0.jpg

...and cleaned up:

Prepped:

Painted:

Turns out the old coilpacks were OEM and ended in "J" - but you know what, balls to Skoda (and Motorline in particular) I really couldn't be arsed arguing the toss about my car being "modified" and warranties... and whatever other crap excuses they want to come out with.

Coil1_zpsa1b0516d.jpg

Coil2_zpseceab6bc.jpg

So, the question was asked "What's in the box?" Well...

OUR SURVEY SAID.............

Parts_zps38e810fd.jpg

Coilpacks from a 2.0 TFSI (genuine VAG), coilpack hold down kit and a Porsche oil cap. Also included, but not shown: 4 new Bosch platinum sparks plugs and I'm just waiting on an ECS conversion plate (I've got plastic adapters to keep me going until it arrives).

Not bad considering I've been awake for 24 hours (someone get me off these damn night shifts! :()

Just need to gap the spark plugs and let the cover cure overnight, then with any luck I can get it all fitted tomorrow :sun:

Awesome, looks great :)

No reason why you can't do the same colour - there are loads of Brisky members and only a certain amount of colours  And yes - they're from Awesome.
