...and it may be weeks before the conversion plate (the permanent adapter) shows up.

 

Looks like I might have to put the old coil packs on until it arrives :(

One last update for this week - I found the old sticker that came with the car when I bought it. Was originally on the rear window, but you couldn't really see it...

I've probably spent about 15 hours in total doing the rivets (still not finished either) and no way in hell am I ever doing that job again :no:

 

I got bored of working out the wheels thing. Plus, because it's an unusual combination, the tyres cost a lot more as they're not as popular - I think it came to £600 just for rubber... let alone the wheels :(

In the meantime - test fit of the new number plate.

 

 

Opted for a "Jap style" plate that you see on Evos and other drifty type cars, rather than using the old long one. I think it looks quite tidy.

I cannot express just how pink the pink is. It's PIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNKKKKK   The camera won't pick it up for some reason (looks quite dull in the pics) but hopefully I can get better pics of it in different lighting.

 

I'm just waiting for it to harden, then I can get it stuck on the bumper.

It's a dilemma that I've thought about over and over. Without it, it'd look cool with more studs and "complete" the look... but with it, it makes it look a little angrier and it also makes the headlights rounder (near the grille). I did contemplate putting studs on the bra at one point

After numerous hours and a lot of masking tape, fumes and cussing...............

 

 

 

 

 

I took a pic with the flash on as well - you get a better idea of the colours in the teeth. The pink is still not showing up as good as it does in real life - it truly is blinding :p

 

 

 

It's a bit dark outside, so will bolt it back on the car tomorrow evening before work :evil:

I used a combination of red, pink, white, graphite grey (metallic) and lacquer to get a rusty / toxic mix with a slight glitter to it.

 

 

 

 

All in all a productive few days off work

I've got to take it off to re-mesh the grille, so will see what it looks like then. I didn't think about modifying the brows - maybe I could cut them so they are slanted, to give it a frowning / angry look. Good idea :yes:

I'm a bit worried about lowering it though - for some reason the front is already sitting very low. I know I've got a splitter but still... I'm sure it shouldn't be like that as standard(?)

I've just read this whole thread from start to finish and enjoyed it all.  I take my hat off to you on this one, total commitment to utter madness.  The car looks great.  Not a lot makes me smile nowadays but this has restored my faith in people and their ability to do something different.

Well I've got another (sort of) update, though this purchase is more for me rather than the car. I've got a few bits coming from the US and a couple of NERF pistols on their way... so very soon I should match the car! :evil: Why? Well........

 

If I manage to get all the mechanical issues sorted and by the power of greyskull I get the time off work, this might make it to the Brisky National Meet in August. Though unlikely (mainly because of work, but you never know, we'll see).

If I am honest I not 100% convinvced on the tongue, because it's quite bright and looks a bit cartoony in my opinion during daylight.  Like a pixar car.

However, that could just be what it looks like in a picture.

I suspect it's actually different on the road.

 

One thing is for certain, it's completely bonkers and I bet it sure gets a lot of attention.

Well... it's been 6 weeks since I ordered the coil pack conversion kit from Awesome GTi and still no sign of the conversion plate, that allows me to fit the 2.0L coil packs. If I carry on running the car I'm going to end up f****** my cat - the stench of unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust is getting worse and worse.

 

Starting to get a little bit annoyed now :wonder:

 

Why advertise a product for sale when certain parts of the kit are out of stock? If something happens to my motor while I'm waiting on this part, someone will be getting sued!
