Sparkly's Mk2 vRS (now sadly returning to stock)

Featured Replies

Looking good...Are these to be used instead of the polishing machine...? I have one but never used it cos have no idea how to and worried about damaging my paintwork.

They are hand polishing pads yeah, but similar construction to the Hexlogic 5.5" machine polishing pads.  The idea is that you can apply enough pressure to actually break down a proper diminishing polish as you would with a machine.  Ultimately a lot slower by hand but for £11.00 it's worth a punt and with a trip to do a machine polishing session on the car with Chris-RS in Spring over in Bradford there should be nothing I can do that can't shortly be undone.

I'm going to go easy as getting it wrong could send things hazy or mar the paint so will start with the least aggressive product I have on the white pad and see where that gets me, stepping things up if I need to.

Rest assured I'll pop the results up on here at a later date.

Merci Bien...:)

De nada :sun:

Dziekuje Bardzo Panie Sparkly

Ok great, think that particular 1.4tsi 140ps is just the Turbocharged version so you should be fine to go for a box with it.  I'm not sure about adding a box to the 1.4tsi Twincharger on the Fabia vRS as I see it as a simple tune for a complicated little engine.  With that said the Rider of Sharks ran a TMC on his car with no issues.

Have seen the threads on the 3 and noone having unlocked the car yet, imagine noones rushing as the majority of owners will want to preserve their warranties anyway.

Not sure that even with a box the 1.4tsi 140 will get to torque figures to trouble the "alleged published" 250nm limits of the DSG box.  Edit stand corrected it comes in at a healthy 250nm stock.

As a fun Dad mobile, take a look into RARB availability, no ride compromise and nice improvement in handling.

Thanks Sparkly, another member answered my post on RARB in the Mk3 section, with a link to a front & back bars pack which seems pretty reasonable, I was hoping having gone from diesel to petrol to get a little less tyre wear but, I reckon these may cause a little more wear with the obvious benefits not being able to be ignored,at least on the way to work.  I'm a Postie & the roads are pretty clear just before the sparrows get up, Dad's fun time !

Sorry Chris posting with guests round, being a little unsocial here. Intended to update later, didn't count on someone reading the post so soon.

Posted this in the detailing section too with the name.

Autobrite Cherry Glaze with their Hellshine Abyss in spray form over the top.

I was lucky to pick this up for £10.00 less than rrp in the Christmas sales.

As long as you respect the ten minute cure time and apply sparingly it was easy on/off for me.

Will keep you posted on durability.

Would love to see it over freshly machine polished paint.

That can be arranged ....Might try it on mine on the same day ;)

Absolutely Chris.

Just driven back from Manchester Airport in the rain, blown away by the Hellshine Ghostrider Rain Repellant too, 35mph and above and the rain literally flew off the screen. Will get some on your Octy when we meet up for you to try. Quite impressed by this Hellshine range so far, if it lasts well it'll become a new fave.

Been reading one of the topics in the Cleaning section and saw your post re the PW you have (Karcher) and I think I have exactly the same one.

Been thinking about getting one of these Snow Foam attachments for it but not sure which part I need to buy...Can you let me know which one did you get..?

I have this

So if you buy one I would recommend that you call up Autobrite Direct and ask for the Detailing World Group Buy Offer Number one. the fitting to request is the Karcher K Series bayonet fitting.

£40.00 for the Lance and you get a free bottle of their excellent Magifoam. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=183611 and before you ask, yes it is still running

Otherwise I would recommend Cleanyourcar.com for the great service I've had off them in the past

Lance - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/foam-pre-wash/cyc-snow-foam-lance/prod_1296.html

Autofinesse Avalanche to go with maybe http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/foam-pre-wash/auto-finesse-avalanche-1-litre/prod_1239.html

I have the same one...I know it's only £40.00 but I don't have it at the moment. I already over spent this months allowance on the Coilovers

Was planning to buy the Karcher one but glad I didn't as it seems uselles so rather save and buy what you reccomend at the end of this month and hope they still have the Group Buy. Thanks for all the info Sparkly...

OMG... :o  :o

I just read the Detailing World Group Buy Link you sent me and I'm sooooo tempted...

Do you know how long they are going to run this deal...? Sooo tempting...!!!!

Really want this now so my car get the treatment it deserves

They tend to run along time on DW

Just signed up for my first waxybox - http://www.waxybox.co.uk/

Should give me my monthly detailing fix

Sparkly, please stop posting about detailing the car as I need to spend my money on other things first and every time I read something you tried/used I'm tempted to buy the same stuff...:D
