Burn it. Probably the worst engine ever made by VAG. Seriously i would be more concerned about finding a 1.4 16v without piston slap and fooked tappets.. (a very rare find) before trying to get any

  • Well egr deletes dont come in colours sooooo. Now stop posting on our vrs forum god damn it.

  • I'm taking the Diesel engine out of mine and putting a 1.4 16v in.

It's so difficult trying stop these kids from turning a perfectly serviceable vehicle into an ornament complete with its own roof garden and interior water feature.

If you drive as much as I do you see these tragic objects everywhere, crying out for Car SOS to intervene or for the scrap man to just come and drag it away.

Dudee.,..i'm 30 with 2 kids already....i drive 30k km a year give or take a few k...i am not here to be race boy...i just to have fun woth my fabia...which if don't, it will see  the scrap pile.....when did we get so bitter?

I get that not every project gets what it deserve, but aren't we at least, gonna try?!

Isn't this the purpose of evolving?!

Bitter..bitter is all i see around these days...😕

Ps. But i still haven't gotten my answers🤣🤣

I committed some horrors when I was younger and I reckon you did as well.

I was still heavily into cars in my 30's and 40's but had evolved from Kevmobiles to road legal endurance racing cars. I didn't however have a family to consider but now I look back I see how many years I wasted before using my skills on something which would reward me and allow me to stop working for anyone else at 44 - property.

Those wise enough to do that while I was still sp*nking away my money on cars, usually the married ones with family are worth far more than me now but OTOH they are stuck on a merry go round that I jumped off of with back then no safety net.

I wouldn't say Sep was bitter. Straight talking with a no-nonsense approach perhaps, which isn't a bad thing. Means you don't get a sugar-coated response.

We have all given you answers to your question in some way or another. It's up to you to decide what you want to do with the car now.

People used to be mad swapping 1.8 ts into fabias.

They'd use an ibiza as a parts car and swap all over.

That's because the Ibiza was so brutally ugly.

For sure the ugly sister ...!!👍

Last project nearly had us all demented - A friends Porsche 924 with a Passat B5 130 TDi and 6 speed box.   This all looked really simple on paper, I mean "Sure isnt a 924 transaxle just an extended Passat..? "  So everything had to change - even the suspensions had to go 5 stud 924S. Every part of that bloody car was a nightmare. I was involved in the loom to get it all going. Even hid the clocks in the glovebox so the engine would run. The keybarrel was an absolute horlicks. Everything had to be changed or shoehorned to fit. I suggested at the time to use the complete Passat body control module to run all the ancillaries and lights and ditch the 40 year old 924 loom but that was rejected in favor of using only the engine loom from the Passat mated to the 924 loom. The car ran ok but with all good classics the gremlin's were at play. I just wasn't that happy at the time with the outcome but the others were all excited ..! The only instrument you had was the mechanical speedo and the Passat clocks were like the Blackpool Illuminations ! If I would have been left more time I would have got all that sorted properly. But it wasn't to be.

That car did run and drive but I had enough of it - Too many cooks involved - Ended up half cooked  - Last I heard of this car was 15 years ago.

The thought of a project like that now gives me the shivers...!

@ScriciMM we aren't bitter nor killjoys but we have all been there with projects over the years and fair enough some did work well but think about it before diving in to the unknown !! What ever happened to the 1.2 Turbo Fabia ??

Didn't the poster of that make a post that it was still running? I'm not too sure though.
