Oh and yes everyone DEFINITELY work the wait. And am so glad I didnt have it to go away with and got to play in an elegance for that week. Saved the mileage and the wear and tear and having the dogs in it etc. Dogs arent allowed in just yet haha.

I contacted him and asked if he could do it frmo a photo of my metal keyring. He did it at the same price and I got 4 of them :)

Here is a guy that does the vrs mirror decals as solid ones but I like having them not all solid, makes them more subtle imo.

Yes I have the bootliner from rhino but I havent put it in yet. Partly because its been raining, partly due to the liner having dogs hairs on it and also because Im not letting the dogs in it just yet LOL

Do you have a direct e-mail address to contact decal supplier?

Thanks.

Love the look of your motor-mine is also Race Blue with chrome grill but with different std alloys.

1200 miles since 16th Sept really smooth and comfortable driving m/c.

Oh! and bloody quick!!

So much for my mid nightshift cheek!

Glad you're liking your car. Almost plumped for the blue with silver roof rails and keeping the chrome but couldn't resist extra toys by dropping the metallic!

Can't wait until mine turns up and I can start personalising it.

You would understand if you had large breasticles and wore strappy tops in summer :p I have sensitive soft skin :p

That's very optimistic, I think that you've got another 6 months before you need to worry about wearing strappy tops again. :rain:

Hi Keith, sorry I dont, I literally just emailed him through ebay if I recall correctly. Which alloys did you go for?

:P I did debate the silver rails but decided black was fine. Although if they did the chrome window surrounds I would have gone for chrome rails as well to tie it all in. Oooh you must post loads of photos when you get it!

LOL I also like to drive in a warm car without a coat on all year round :P

Lady,

thanks for the reply.

My alloys are the Pictoris, which I think look fine with the chrome grill etc.

Mine was a cracking deal on a Skoda Compound Std New car, registered in Sept.

Part Ex against my MK2 was brilliant and also large discount on new price.

Yeah I missed out on selecting extras but std car is pretty good spec anyway.

Loving it!!

Cheers,

Keith

Ahh the pictoris was my other choice. Went back and forth a bit but have decided I made the right decision for me (hide more dirt with the anthricite haha)

Glad you're loving it - I am loving mine too. Just had to move it at work (parked in the boss space as she isnt normally in on mondays) as just my luck she is coming in this afternoon so thought I'd better move him! Am sure boss wouldnt mind but thought its a bit cheeky

I dont think I added a great deal really on spec and of course you missed out on the long wait so swings and roundabouts!

We pick ours up on Friday - black with Ppictoris, silver grille (obviously) and silver rails. I think the silver contrast really sets off a car if you've not gone for the black pack. :)

I have also decided not to go for black pack and anthracite gemini like all the others, I have chosen race blue hatch with chrome grille and Pictoris alloys.

Like the Black/Chrome look.

Will be interesting too see your photos. Think I saw  a photo of a demo for sale at  a dealer in Winchester.

Enjoy your new motor!!

Dont hold your breath on getting a reply!!! They dont seem very quick to respond to emails (not to me anyways)

Just experienced after long day / early hours of the morning drive , "The Fatigue Sensor".

Interesting Experience- 4hr into London- then 2 hr at footie match -3 hours drive back home.

10 mins from home, up pops the alarm /coffee cup advising a break!!

All this lovely technology!

Is that because you were swerving all over the road??!!! ;-)

Is that because you were swerving all over the road??!!! ;-)

No, car just looked into my eyes and said- you need a bloody good break my boy!!

Interesting experience ,as I think within a half an hour I might have started too nod off.

So that is a very positive bit of kit in this car - in my opinion!!

Ooooh thats good. I wonder when I will first get mine come up. Might sound sad but its a feature I really like as I know i'll be doing long shifts and potentially have a long drive home. Wanna always make it home in one piece, even if I have to stop off and have a cat nap :) so think its a good piece of tech

I thought the fatigue sensor simply measured how long you'd been driving and the accelerator?

And steering input I think.

  • Author

I thought it measured your steering input and accelerator? Didnt think it measured how long you drive for. You can be too tired to safely drive on a 10 min journey and be fine on a 5 hour one....... hmm perhaps this might not be as helpful as I thought if its based on journey length!

From the manual;

The fatigue detection system advises the driver on the basis of information about the steering behaviour, to take a break from driving. The system recommends a break at speeds of 65-200 km/h.

After the ignition has been switched on, the system evaluates the steering be- haviour for 15 minutes. This baseline analysis is constantly compared with the current steering behaviour.

If the system detects deviations from normal steering behaviour due to possible fatigue of the driver, it recommends to take a break from driving.

The system deletes the stored baseline analysis if one of the following condi- tions is met.
The vehicle is stopped and the ignition is turned off.
The vehicle is stopped, the seat belt is taken off and the driver's door is opened. The vehicle is stopped for more than 15 minutes.

If none of these conditions is met or the driving style is not changed, the system recommends a driving break again after 15 minutes.

I believe it is constantly checking your steering inputs, how lane assist is working (I.e. How many times IT keeps you between the bite lines) throttle input, possibly even sudden braking (as if you have momentarily dropped off then woken to take evasive action). It is constantly running this through an algorithm and comparing to the previous ten minutes. If it thinks you are getting tired based on its map, you will get he alert.

Personally I would like to see it to ensure it is working, but in reality I never want to see it all as it means my judgement has become impaired and I have failed to notice the warning signs.

From the manual;

When in doubt, RTFM
