show us your garage!

Garages are for motorbikes, and associated paddock stands and tool etc. Cars go in front of the garage, making it harder for tea leafs to get the motorbikes out.

I wish we had one, we used to but it wasn't wide enough for a car and had access through the house so got rid of the shutter and built a wall with window and turned it into a room

Here's a little bit of mine. The only pic I have of it!

That is the rare time it's actually not empty, usually filled with dads mid life crisis at that moment in time, it's currently a Boxster S for now haha.

Bit annoying as all the tools are at the back and it's such a tight squeeze getting past even with me being the skinniest guy ever

That's what sheds are for. :)

You haven't seen the shed!!  :giggle:

But seriously even if we emptied the garage,  either of the cars would struggle to fit,  We could probably get them in but it would involve the driver leaving by the tailgate.

Fixed that for you

No garage as such at the house, but here's the pigsty. 7 cars inside, it's about big enough.

Sorry sir, I'm afraid the Polo has failed the MoT.

Just me. So that'll be pikey in the singular ;)

I bought the Polo accident damaged for spares.

pretty much like mine - hard to believe some people actually put cars in garages!

Very nice Q - enjoy! Perfect time of year to experience some exposed motoring :D

I'll get some pics of my "new" garage next weekend, pic up the keys to our first pad next Friday, she's out buying curtains and rugs, I've bought floor and masonary paint, and new lights for the garage ;)

Probably, the house is in Chadd, the unit is to the north of Nottingham.

 My old barn

Wow jaw-drop.gif

I have a really good sized garage, but it's slowly falling down (60's prefab), full of junk, covered in ivy inside and out and rarely holds a car. I can just squeeze the Lotus in with a bit of tidying, but there is know way the Yeti will fit without a lot of work.

At least my Son has somewhere safe to keep his ped.

My current time sink:

Still a work in progress. Built it almost single handed starting by demolishing the old concrete prefab thing some time in March I think (it was snowing I remember that...). My brother came to help with the roof as I couldn't lift the 7m long sheets by myself. Its an odd shape and odd construction due to where it is... I wanted to take up all the flat space left after removing the old one, so its wider at the back. Its also lower than the garden in parts. I couldn't 'afford' the space of cavity block (without massive excavation) but wanted it insulated... so its block/timber mixed to suit, with steel cladding top, back and one side (that is bang against the neighbors garage/border and shiplap on the side I can see from the house (with the windows in). Still lots of niggles to finish off, and storage to build/buy. Its been an experience (I've never done anything like it before...) and I might even under take it again... but there are certain things I'd do differently... I wouldn't lay the floor myself again that's for sure! And I think the massive effort involved in going further back would have been worth it (2 large root systems to remove, old retaining wall to remove, several tonnes of soil and then all the rebuilding.. actually it probably wouldn't be worth it!).

Now folks, this is what single garages are most useful for--------narrow cars!

Here is a wee shot of mine, taken just this evening. It is quite a generous size and I've done a fair bit to do it considering it isn't even my garage (rented accommodation). It is my favourite room in the house!

Someone else's but my car was hiding in there for a short while as was one of my bikes (was behind where first pic was taken). M3 was evicted upon arrival of the mighty Skoda! :D

Never parked the superb in garage before,

until window got smashed.

With 1/2 inch of space away from each door mirror (garage frame) -

thank god for parking sensors ...
