  • This should help clear up a few confusions about "how hard it looks" or "where does this wire go".   My kit arrived a moment ago, and in this pic I've laid it all out nice and neat. You have the 2x

  • It's not the ballast that is the problem, like I said they were both sides secure on the slam panel already at this stage. It's the bulb. For some reason I just can't get these new holders to twist in

  • These are the pictures you REALLY want to see!   Can you tell which one is the Monte?          And my personal favourite...     I do have a couple of snaps of dipped & main beam

I've just finished fitting my 6000k hid kit to my car and so far love the transformation aesthetically! Can't wait to test them in the dark.

i like Dexter but a little too blue for me. Good work

The camera settings on my phone make it look a lot more blue, when in naked eye it is very white but thanks for the comments guys! Really chuffed. Just going outside now to take some night pictures

Hi dexter what is the night time driving like compared to the standard bulbs is their a big difference?

Hi dexter what is the night time driving like compared to the standard bulbs is their a big difference?

I haven't done any night driving yet but just sat on the driveway I can already tell they are so much brighter. The best halogen bulbs I found were the osram nightbreaker plus unlimiteds and they were a lot better than the usual 100% brighter osram and Philips crap, but these HIDs are just another level from what I can see so far without yet driving with them.

To quote Slotty after fitting his for him.

"F***ing hell, I can't believe I waited so long before fitting them"

The difference is err.... Night and Day :giggle:

Hi,

I have a question concerning the HID in our Fabia. With halogen bulbs, the light gets weaker when in idle and turning the steering wheel.

How does HID perform in this condition ?

Hi,

How does HID perform in this condition ?

They dont. Theyre either turned on, or turned off. They just provide a stable output no matter what load is on the system

You won't regret getting HID's, I wouldn't be without them now

Removed mine the other week

One failed and i couldnt be bothered with the hassle, warm up time anymore.

So the osram nightbreaker gold are back in

Stupid question,

I had a 2012 fabia cars and fitted 4300k to it but they only had single light bulbs. Just replaced it with a 60plate which doesn't have bi-halogen it has separate main and dipped beam bulbs. Does it matter what kit I use? As I was going to get the same 35w 4300k kit fitted to my previous fabia

Yes it does, you have to get the correct bulb type, probably h7.

What lens is in the headlights, projector or reflector?

Projector, just the main difference is in my 2012 vs it had a single bulb with shutter, this has a main and dipped beam, the dipped beam being projector

That's the best setup imo

I would imagine you would need a 35w HID kit with an H7 bulb at whatever colour temp you preferred but I would check the bulb fitment first.

You're right mate

It is H7 in both dipped and high beam in the silver facelift lights

Hi Guys - I am planning to upgrade the existing headlamps to a projector and a HID kit, so does the new projector set come with wiring and bulbs as well or is it just the assembly? If it is with wiring then should i go for the normal wiring from Skoda that comes with the projector and then upgrade to the HID(outside),just trying to save few bucks, any help or direction is greatly appreciated.

Also does anyone know the pricing of the projector lamps, you can share any currency pricing, since the projector sets are imported by Skoda back here.

2011 Fabia2  - India

Thanks

I'm not sure if the units come with the wiring but I would guess not, whenever I have bought new units I have had to use the existing wiring from the vehicle. Bulbs are not usually included either. You will most likely have to use an aftermarket kit for the HID which is plug and play with the the cars existing wiring and then the bulb goes into the new unit.

You will need to make sure that the units you buy are similar to the units you take out if you do not want to have to change wiring about.

It would probably be easier and cheaper for you to simply fit a set of projectors into your existing headlights, rather than trying to find the replacement units.

You can then use a set of H1 HID bulbs.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, surely will rethink on this, but aesthetic wise i think the skoda originals look better :-)
