  • This should help clear up a few confusions about "how hard it looks" or "where does this wire go".   My kit arrived a moment ago, and in this pic I've laid it all out nice and neat. You have the 2x

  • It's not the ballast that is the problem, like I said they were both sides secure on the slam panel already at this stage. It's the bulb. For some reason I just can't get these new holders to twist in

  • These are the pictures you REALLY want to see!   Can you tell which one is the Monte?          And my personal favourite...     I do have a couple of snaps of dipped & main beam

I ordered mine day before yesterday and i'm hoping (not expecting) that they'll get here today! When mine are fitted im gonna notify the insurance, it seems silly to void your insurance over somethign so stupid which probably wouldn't increase your insurance anyway!

Little Review of my 5000k kit. Last Thursday I drove to Poland and visited few countries. The whole journey was the night time driving and having these on made it very easy. None of the cars flashed me. The visibility was great and amount of signs and things I was able to see in the front of me was amazing. Really good stuff especially if you have projector headlights. Also. When I was fitting those I noticed little levers/switches inside the headlight which meant I didn't have to buy any of the silly stickers. Just flicked these two and changed the beam pattern to stop dazzling the others in Europe...:)

Good to hear!

Nice tip about the dip switch too, i didnt know that was there. Good stuff :).

Where abouts in cheshire are you?

Im in buxton, derbyshire

I'm in Buxton to lad, small world!

If you've got a spare set of h7 HID's going I'll have them off you!

Woo! What car you got? Might of seen you around :).

I have got a spare set, but one of the bulbs is faulty mate

I'll try to post a picture later guys but this switch is located next to the H7 Bulb inside the headlight. You need to take the Rubber Cover off, and it's a metal switch/lever located next to where you fit the bulb. In order to change the pattern you need to posh it down and you done. My car is currently in the garage but I'll take a picture when I there today.

^ well that's handy! heading to europe for a trip in june! lucky I found out now!

Fitted my HID's on friday, I must say I absolutely love them! so much better than halogens.

Red Monte Carlo buddy. If your getting rid let me know, I'll just buy a new set of bulbs.

That would be really useful Slotty thank you :)

To update this. I've just fitted some 35w 6k HID's to mine.

If you've got the right tools to hand, it's an easy job.

I cut my bulb holders too & as mentioned they work fine when cut.

I have ordered some hid from hid direct this afternoon the 6000k ones

Iv just changed bulbs quite a few times, and fitted hid's in my fabia. Iv never noticed or felt this lever

Pics would be lovely :).

I can't take a picture, sorry but the lever is to the side of the bulb holder, it feels like a sliver of vertical metal and it goes up and down. You just have to remove the rubber cover, that is all. If I can get a picture at some point I will.

Ill have a close look some time.

Cheers :).

Hi All,

Been out (my Bros wedding) and only just got back, I promise that I'll take a pic and post it here be the end of this week...

Matty

You should be far too smashed to type on here! Haha

My monte has this lever, how do I post pictures on here?

Open an account on Photobucket.com and load the photos into there, then you can copy the link from photobucket and paste it into your posts on here, I usually choose the thumbnail option as it takes up less server space.

You can use this method to paste photos onto any forums that you belong to. :)

Did you tell your insurers (as per previous post) and if so, what did they say?

Did I balls.

In my eyes there a safety feature, & if they think they can screw more unneeded money out of me they can jog on!
