That about does it ;)

Bit of white paint and as we're on an ex us airforce airfield, a woolly jumper. Get me drunk enough on Saturday and it might be a starkers and hutch homage.

When does this get opened up to others Colin, outside Briskoda?

Just wondering as we are almost a month to the date.

On a format basis, maybe a novice session would be good with open pitlane outside those times.

I'm sure there will be some experienced Brisky members willing to take novices round and give them an idea, I know I would be.

I'd also be happy to go out with novices in their session as a passenger to give a few basic pointers.

Judging by the discussion about jnsurance it looks like there would be perhaps more people attending but apprehensive towards potential mishaps. Novice/first time track day members could indeed use soe sort of session geared towards getting them comfy with the track work. It can be pretty daunting for first timers to see cars approaching very fast in their mirrors or going around them at high speeds. We have whole day so there's plenty of time for a "novice session". I will help in whatever capacity required.

On a side note, when I am for the first time on any track I always start really slowly and progressively increase speed, cornering speed, delay braking points untill limits are reached. If done gradually offs are limited or completely avoided and you can drive in comfort to your or eqipment's abilities.

Having said that there's nothing quite like a feeling of a "brown pants moment" you managed to get sway with:D

Is that why first time out at Bedford you came back in with more smoke coming off your brakes than I've ever seen before on any track day? ;)

We thought your engine was on fire.

You got me there! Not always Mr Sensible :)

I'm In!

Colin, can you save me one slot + instructor please?  I will arrange payment asap. I've had my card cancelled by the bank so can't make immediate payment on anything (oh joy).

Anyone's welcome to come for some passenger laps with me.

same here actually, anywone wanting passenger laps will be fine with me :)

I will need any passenger to sign a disclaimer if they come in with me just in case

As with other events it has been known for people to actually have a go of my car so you just never know, this might happen again  :peek:

What, like you gave somebody a ride in your car on a track day and then they were complaining and wanted something from you for ... I do not even know what for!?!

BTW, do passengers need to pay or is it just for second drivers?

All drivers and second drivers sign normal disclaimers I thought passengers had to do the same?

I am asking as I never had a passenger with me on a track except from an instructor, but would love to do that

P.S. SWMBO expressed interest in participating in a track day (not Blyton) - imagine a disclaimer she'd need to sign  :p

You know I drive a citigo... power corrupts! I'd settle for a passenger. Last time I was out on a track it was in a brand new 3 series. I could not figure out why it would not slip it's backside out on a wet track/pan... after a few goes, driving instructor dude told me it was a new x drive ( 4x4 ) one, fair play for effort though.

Might be some disclaimers to sign on the day for passengers.

As BRISKODA has paid for the day, it's our venue/circuit, then things like passenger laps etc are not really an issue. I'd be encouraging it without $$$.

Confirmations:

Helmet hire is available. £10 for the day. Not a limitless supply. Look for like headed people if short; lol or tall, if short on helmets... stop now.

Noise: Important

Trying to nail this down. Each time I ask it gets lower :(

Noise is 95db @20m Drive-by

I'm not sure what that equates to in bloke with Db meter at exhaust on 3/4qtr revs. I've asked for confirmation if possible. Only comment is mkII escorts need to be well silenced. So I'm guessing the 20m drive by is out on track somewhere where beans are been applied.

Anyhow for almost any normal car it's not going to be an issue.

I'll drop you a letter/track ticket to the shipping addy used on ordering. But essentially it will be the first post, bring driving lic ( both parts )... long sleeve t etc... remove loose cabin items before track. Really is quite simple, bring car too ;)

Brands is 105db Static test and 92db drive by.

No cars are going to struggle with a 95db drive by unless they are REALLY loud.

I'm talking the family size baked bean can exhaust boys here.
