Not a chance mate I think I will end up missing that as I am currently without a car. This is going to take time to get right but will be worth it.

A new turbo has been purchased, went for a TD05 16g in the end, twin scroll. Same power figures as a TFSI K04 and the Garrett GT28rs so well chuffed. In two minds on the rear subframe, use the one i have got or make a all singing and dancing CDS tube version along with custom rear arms etc

All singing sounds good to me :)

not in perfect condition but i can soon sort that out. Ditching the sleeper look now and going for something a little more purposeful and outrageous

gearbox should be here today/tomorrow, which needs to be stripped and modified before i can use it. slowly getting bits together and removing parts i don't need anymore. shells now level on the driveway ready for the boot floor and transmission tunnel to be removed, then the new one to be welded in to accommodate the new gearbox and prop-shaft/exhaust system

Fantastic :) I can't wait to see how this turns out

What's the plans with the rear end as the track's wider than the Fabia one?

Haha that is fantastic :) can't wait to see how you get on :)

Hats off to the creativity of you Ben!

Like you say the Ford boys would RWD a single bed if they could so why not!! Dare to be different and push the boundaries.

That will be fantastic. What was your plan for the old engine?

  • Author

the original 1.8t i was running has been stripped down for now so i can use the block to mock up engine position etc and make all the necessary mounts. Its much easier to use the block than the whole engine. The other 1.8t will be forged then finally make its way into the fab once most of the fabrication work is done. The old head will be used as a jig to make the new exhaust manifold for the td05 turbo

Sweet, that sounds great
