The rear end I have is from a buy eyed Impreza, rear diff wise I'm still sorting that as want something with a LSD as standard, box is a a4 Quattro that I will modify to just rwd, suspension will be Scooby AVO coilovers all round, front hubs are golf vr6 but in the reverse so the track rod end arms are in front instead of behind, which with allow me to mount the steering rack in front on the front wheels meaning the engine can go as far as possible up the chassis. Its all planned out to a certain degree, considering there's no parts I can steal from another vag to complete the conversion a little thought has gone into the parts list. Plus its the same as before, small budget and me doing the work then back to Shark for mapping. Will be interesting when its done but unfortunately atm kinda moving away from the sleeper look but may change my mind who knows

Avo coilovers arrived last night hopefully these will do the trick, TD05 is now ready to collect from Midland turbo after a complete rebuild, progress is slow until i pull the interior and loom out over the bank holiday then i can start cutting the a few bits out the chassis and start mocking up how the engine will be mounted

Cheers dude its getting there, Midland Turbo have done a good job certainly looks the part. Hopefully the manifold I will be making will be as sexual

so it seems a slight bump in the road.... the lovely lovely CG motorsport clutch won't fit the quattro gearbox as the input shaft is the same size as the 02M box found in the fab VRS. So after steering at it for quiet some time, came to the conclusion that i need a new pressure plate of some description, whilst i'm at might as well change the box for a proper one which also allow me to use the correct diff so my final drive isn't either too low or too high. Entry the Mazda rx8 gearbox.... Parts are cheap due to the short life of the Rx's engine, comes with a lsd from factory, has been proven to withstand some rather serious power (more than i will be running). Plan now is too stick with my Darkside G60 flywheel, the VR6 CG pressure plate, CG rx8 friction plate, rx 5/6 speed box/LSD diff, i will have to machine up an adapter plate for the rx box which should't be too much trouble.

Problem number 2 is that the scooby rear end has become un-workable for several reasons. So will now design the rear subframe/diff cradle around the rx diff and golf vr6 front hubs. This is allow for a simpler design and use of VAG parts which certainly seem to be a lot cheap than Subaru ones. Despite progress seeming rather slow an awful lot of head scratching is being done

Busy afternoon, been and cut a transmission tunnel from a rx8, got the 6 speed gearbox, prop shaft, diff, shafts and tank. Fabia no.2 is off to a new home tomorrow after sorting it out.

the only FGF one to havae a roll cage is the Santa Pod special we never finished... has a massive hole in the back already cut out for you Ben
