Driving to Deal last night as i got to around Lydden, popped it out of gear into neutral to coast to the lights, then they changed as i was still at speed so i put it into 3rd, the car then seemed to loose boost. No sudden sound, just cut power.

Similar feel to having a bad MAF, however it wasnt smoking at all so i thought it is fueling correctly. No sound of boost building. After a while i was able to pull over, cycled ignition and it drove fine again, Im pressuming it might have been a Limp Home situation, but need to give it a scan. I have a feeling it maybe to do with its map, (still need to plug in VCDS and do boost measurements)

Also the Split inner CV boot as a result of my off at Brands certainly needs replacing now. I feel between my current and old drive shafts i could merge them into one good one (outer on one and inner on the other are good)

Little bits to keep me going tho! :D

I still havnt got around to finishing off the footage from Brands.

Drive shafts inner joint is gone, so as i still have the old one, im going to make 1 good one from two. Which is this weeks jobs.

In the mean time, it looks like the vRS has now been named "Vikki" (always with two k's) as shes always dirty.......

:P

Give it a polish ;) horn should be with you in the next day or two

To be honest the paint is ok for its age but isnt perfect, this is a "track car" im a "it works mechanically" guy so im not too bothered about how clean it is.

Treachery, a good polish and the paint will be perfect ;) still trying to sort the mapping for it?

No I think its already mapped after how well it performed at Brands, so im more interested in getting it on the Rollers and seeing what its making.

Unfortunately things are going to be on hold till next year now.

Been given 2 weeks (well til the 24th) Notice by the landlord, so ive gotta box everything up ASAP. luckily the Fabia is similar size to a van when the rear seats are stripped out (still out from brands). well its like a van compared to the Citigo.... :D

Let me know if you need a hand as I have access to a van or two. :D

I thought i ought to update this again, as there appears to be chinese whispers going around :)

As some of you may know I currently run two cars, a 62 Plate Citigo and the vRS. However ive been wanting to reduce back to one car for a while, and the Citigo is great, its just a brilliant little, fun and agile car. Its brilliant to drive with only a few niggles which IMO are minor in the grand scheme of things.

That said as of Next week it will be "Citi-Gone" as im downsizing to just the Fabia....

:D

Dont get me wrong, the vRS is a Diesel, which i dislike and IMO are Lazy, unrefined, stinking, dirty dirty things. but that aside, the Torque is very very enjoyable. and it may not handle as well as the Citigo, but it sure makes up for it when you go near the loud pedal :D

And as a complete package it is good fun to drive and is only better then the Citigo overall for Three reasons:

1) Torque

2) Size and Practicality (compared to the Citigo)

3) Torque!!!

So that is, for the time being (until my Alfa Fetish comes back) Vikki the vRS is staying! :)

Best take up shares in Crude oil as i think im going to be needing it!

Phew ;) I was worried you'd be getting rid of it, trading the Citislow in? Did the horn arrive today?

Sounds like what you really need is a Fabia Estate 1.8t (in green) :P

Mere Mortals such as myself dream of a 1.8T Fabia and the Project thread required to obtain a said goal.

On another note, the near side drive shaft is now swapped again.

I started with:

Pastys Nearside Drive shaft - Outer OK!, inner KIA at Brands

Original Nearside Drive shaft - Outer Kaput!, inner OK!

popped back into work and used a bench vice to hold it as i changed them over to make one good one. Fitted a new boot kit but didnt have the tool to crimp the bands. so i left it and just greased the CV joint.

Got home to find my house mate was in, who just so happened to have said tool! 5 minutes later it was tight ready to be fitted.

Fitted to the car and job done. :)

Very nice Taylor!

You should've borrowed a Green Fabia Estate ;) moving in style

Edit - forgot to say, good luck with the move and hope it all goes well.
