Other than wheels and colour, what's the spec difference to a normal vRS?

Suspension, Wheels and Carbon Trim.

Looks so much better being lower and wider.

Paint is Meteor Grey, an available colour from build.

looks awesome, enjoy it John!

I guess this would have to be insured as modified seeing as it's not official so it'll just be a vRS on the V5....

Its official enough to still have full warranty, so Skoda approved.

The car is actually an "official model" after checking with Skoda and Simpsons

After checking with them and my insurer, it is no different as the car is modified at build, and that is how it is built as standard.

There is no options to modify a car to this spec after build.

Perhaps it's a model spec'd by Simpsons (hence the "Simpsons Motorsport") with them backing the warranty with agreement of Skoda. Can't find any Skoda Motorsport model available from any other dealers on the Web and the info on the Simpsons site suggests that they have done the mods.

Anyway, looks the business and enjoy when it arrives.

It is a model exclusive to Simpsons due to there involvement in the S2000 rally car they race in the European Rally Championship.

I think all of the parts are chosen by Skoda, and Simpsons have the exclusive deal on selling them?

That's a real coup for Simpsons! It's the way Skoda should go IMHO. I've always thought Seat were better at official sports mods (exhausts, body kits etc) and I think the Skoda cult following would take up additional kit.

Have to be honest, those wheels don't quite do it for me. The anthracite stock vRS wheels look great imo :)

Mean as a bag full of badgers, love it.

I agree, I'm not a fan of the wheels but the rest looks great.

Its a nice looking car not a fun of the wheels but over all very sweet looking car

I like that, it looks mean, enjoy your new motor John.

Suspension, Wheels and Carbon Trim.

The carbon trim (interior) is standard on the vRS. Does it have any externally?

Do like the wheels and the height.

Carbon wrapped roof I think?

Yep, seem to recal from another thread somewhere the roof is carbon wrapped.

Unless it's the offset, spacers too?

Yes you're right it is the roof, I've just found it on their site. Looks nice. Wasn't massively keen on the black roof wraps on the roof but the carbon does look good.

13 week build time is hopefull.. My VRS estate ordered on the 23rd of may is still waiting on a build date. Unless there are stock Vrs about that Simpsons are modifying to this spec. From what I have seen for this vrs Simpsons modify the car to look like the finished one I didn't think it was done from factory.

Great looking car!...

But as a note, check out the roof when you get it - as from the initial pics on the Simpsons website when this was first advertised, the edges of carbon wrap looked a bit rough (IMO)!

Hmmm, just seen it on the website - got excited when I saw the carbon, but then I saw 'effect'... Bleurgh!!!

That stuff offends me and should be banned!

Proper carbon fibre wrap is cheap these days, and you can still see the weave glinting in the light. That carbon effect looks cheap and ****e!

Not for me...

The rest of the package looks quite good, shame they couldn't change the airbox/tailpipe for a touch more power and bespoke look.

I'm test driving a vRS Estate on Saturday, what's the standard interior like?

That was my take on it as well.

I would discuss this with your insurance company, as at the end of the day it is up to them if it is classed as a modification or not, as the mods are being made after it has left the factory but are Skoda approved/sanctioned. I can see this one being a bit of grey area, some insurers will probably use it as a reason to hike premiums and others not be bothered about it.

Looks good. As mentioned by a couple, not a big fan of the wheels but each to their own :)

Out of interest, does anybody know what suspension/set-up they are using?

Insurance wise, it isn't a standard VRS, and insurers I'm sure won't have a Simpsons Motorsport vRS to give you a quote, so the probability is that if you just insure it as a standard vRS they'll only pay you out for standard vRS - might be a good case for GAP insurance
