£200-£300 per month?

Most likely more, they absolutely hate a young person modifying however I could buy a mk2 VRS or an ST as Standard and insure for about £1000 a year iirc,

  • Ah the voice of reason has arrived.             Oh, hang on a minute...

  • Ummm, why not simply whip the head off and replace the head gasket? Reads like someone's had the dial turned up to 11 and broken it, stripped his mods off and traded it.

  • you reckon he'll fit Nankangs cos he ran out of money?

If you are paying to have an engine put in, a turbo put on and a custom map for the new turbo don't expect much change out of £2,000.

An upgraded clutch is probably a good idea while the engine and gearbox are split and an exhaust and intercooler wouldn't be a bad idea either.

With labour you could be looking at a bill from £3,000 to £4,000, before you start to look at handling or brakes as the new power level will make stock brakes a liability. It'll need a rear ARB too.

To do a PD130 car right and pay for it all I wouldn't expect much change out of £5,000.

And its a project that ill be doing with my uncle, hes doing it mores so as a favor from when my cousin bumped into me just after a full respray on my old 2006 fiesta :/ but im paying him as its only fair.

Personally I reckon the OP would be better off gettng a MkI with the 2.0.

ill do a check list on the things already done to the car (must have been remapped already)

Upgraded clutch - check

Decat exhaust - check

Intercooler - in progress

Was about to say it's not cheap at all and might be worth waiting till the extra year NCB before the Turbo upgrade and also get new coilovers and brakes and a RARB

one more :giggle:

So it might have an Fmic, I'd get it checked to see if it has and go from there as it should be brisk with just a remap

Front mounted inter cooler, that's the reason why you cut the grill and number plate surround out to feed the inter cooler more air

Is there a front mounted inter cooler behind it as sometimes it's done just for show!

well no, i bought it with the bumper sliced up with the standard intercooler on it

So it's just been done for show or previous owner removed all mods! Either way I'd get it all checked for a previous remap

  • 1 year later...

Does the pd150 engine mount up the same? And as for putting the engine in would you get away with using the pd130 ecu and betting it mapped to suit the pd150 engine?
