Hi,

I'm possibly looking to buy an Octavia Estate and my local dealer is shortly getting a Nov 2008 1.9 PD TDi Elegance in with 33000 miles on it for around £7k.

The car has a dpf so the low mileage worries me a little...

Is this a likely to be a good buy or would I be better off waiting for a newer, higher mileage 1.6 CR for around the same price to come up?

Grateful for any thoughts or advice...

I don't believe any PD engined 1.9's came with DPF's, a pre FL MK2 of that age almost certainly wouldn't have a DPF anyway unless it happened to be a 2.0 4x4 or Scout.

For 7k.....For me it's pushing the price boundary slightly but if it's a genuine car with full history, be difficult to find another I expect with that lower mileage.

I would however try to find out why the mileage is so low; sure the reason is likely to be genuine but sometimes low mileage doesn't always mean good car if you catch my drift?

For that money I'd want an L&K

At what date did 1.9 PDs gain DPFs? Or have they never had them??

Saw a 2009 FL 1.9 PD Estate, t'other day - no mention of a DPF.

Advice please :sun:

Thanks for your replies - It was the dealer that told me it did have a DPF...  Confused now.  I'll see if I can get service codes or an engine type from him!

As far as Octavias are concerned, never. Some VW and Audi 1.9 PDs had DPFs, but not Skodas.
