What Mods Have You Done To Your Car?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I have just got back home after having fitted a DTM Spoiler to the front of my car, and I was wondering what other modifications people have made to their Octavia III's.

So far I have fitted inserts to go in the seat raisers that say vRS, fitted wind deflectors to the windows and a bumper protector to the back bumper, as well as the spoiler fitted today.

I suppose the point of this topic is to see what others have done to their cars good and bad.

I've retro fitted a black pack front grill.

15mm rear and 12mm front wheel spacers but I've only used them with my et56 winter wheels so far.

I'm tempted to lower it but along with a remap I'm resisting the urge at the moment.

I do like the look of the side skirts someone had fitted on here as they cover the minging looking underseal on the sills

I purchased both the Splitter and the rear bumper protector from Super Skoda (www.superskoda.com).

The Splitter cost 179.99 euros.

The rear bumper protector cost 29.99 euros.

Preparing for winter I also removed the foot mats the car comes with and replaced them with these. At a cost of 39.99 euros.

Last but by no means least are the wind deflectors on the windows. Cost 44.99 euros.

What is the difference between this and the original accessory? I have the one from the brochure in silver, but yours look different somehow...what is the material that it's made of?

Superskoda rear trunk spoiler v3

Rear de-badging

Front and rear sill protectors and mud flaps

Next on the list is rear tints.

Also thinking about lowering springs, cos they can't make the ride any harsher than standard factory springs!

Did RS front to my 1.8 TSI. Now thinking I should get the black emblem to the front, lose side chrome from the windows and swap out summer rims to black 17" / 18", which leaves original 17" silver alloys for winter (might be bad idea going 45mm profile on winter, but will see). May be get rear bumper spoiler from superskoda, debadge back (Skoda and Octavia), swap to black emblem. Plus I really like the honeycomb grill - so I could do so much if I had spare cash around :-D

RS front on 1.8 TSI

Best mod for me was my Scorpion exhaust. Who needs a sound generator when you can have the real thing!!!

Grand I am sure if it's a petrol like yours, diesels just don't sound fruity enough unless they have 5+ cylinders to play with. Still not convinced an aftermarket exhaust would make much of a diff even then.

I bet yours sound well nice. What did you do with the sound generator, did you remove it?

I put the car into "Normal" driving mode which turned down the sound generator and I can't notice difference in engine/throttle response.

I agree 5 cylinders has to be the best ever noise from an engine...... When it's coming from an Audi Quattro S2 at 2am in Grizedale forest!!

I know I've seen a photo with these fitted

http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-III/Octavia-III-abs-plastic-eyebrows-SPORTIVE

But has anyone else thought of what they would look like on their car in black to coincide with the black pack?

Check my earlier post in the thread or have a peek at my avatar...
