After fitting 18 winter wheels on my 245 I'm seriously thinking about 18s for summer use as I spend most of my time on rough country roads.

Thinking something like about 9kg in 8x18 in anthracite. Probably looking at ET40...does that work ok on the FL rear?

How do lighter wheels stand up to potholes etc?

Like the simplicity of the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 but not too keen on the lettering on the rim. There's a similar Revo branded rim without the lettering but £100+ more per set. Any other suggestions?

Ideally I'd like to stick with original bolts and avoid spigot rings.

Do they do them in black? Actually forget that I've just seen the price per wheel.

Anyone got fitted R17 7,5j ET35 with 225/45? Does it fit without rubbing?

Im running that setup on my winter tyres with studs, but ET37. My car is lowered on h&r -40mm springs.

Not even close to rubbing, so yes will be just fine!

58991.thumb.jpg.e79ec0b81eb9eab0aeb79cc6f5a44b0e.jpg

Im thinking about putting it on my VRS in 18x8 ET35

18" weight about 9 kg.

Anyone has them fittend and could show photos.

Hi!

Has anyone fitted 19x9 wheels on octavia? It should fit on back just fine, but how about front?

19x9 et33 audi oem rotors would look good.

I got 19x8.5 with ET37 all around on 235/35 tires and it is the max I would go.

Your setup will be 2.4mm wider so your might get into trouble then again it really depends on tire profile and ride height.

Looks like Japan Racing JR20.

I have pre-FL liftback vRS with Eibach springs. Current setup is Japan Racing JR21 18x8,5 ET40 with 225/40 tyres. Been thinking about updating to 19 inch instead. I'm guessing 19" would fill the arch gap a little better? Of course it depends on tyre sizing vs rim width, but in general.

Edit: here's a picture... (couldn't find a better one now sorry). As you can see there's quite a bit of arch gap still. Maybe those Eibachs didn't bring the car lower enough to look clean. Idk if it would just get worse with 19" or look better...

Hi,

I am on eibach pro-kit springs aswell, I will have 19x8.5 with 245/35, et43 installed this week, maybe 12mm spacers in the back.

Heres my black vrs on 17x7.5 with 225/45 tyres ET37.

And another members blue vrs on 19x8.5 with 245/35, Et45 I remember. Eibach prokit springs, fits fine.

@maxxxi and @Vilho

Yeah actually saw Vilho's picture through google earlier :D Looks good. From what I have seen/read it seems like Eibach pro-kit drops estate well (as can be seen on @maxxis pictures) but maybe that's not so much the case with LB... Eibach Pro-Kit drops vRS only 20mm front 10mm back. Guess I made a mistake and should've gone with Eibach Sportline or H&R instead. If I remember correctly though H&R is 20mm front and back for vRS so front should be same with Eibach Pro-Kits.

Btw 245 tyre sounds pretty wide on 8,5" rim. Usually it's 225 or 235. Did you mean 235 or is it really 245? :)

I played a bit with willtheyfit.com. If you change 8,5x18 with 225/40 --> 8,5x19 with 235/35 it would fill the arch gap about 5mm. But naturally also ride height will be 5mm more :D With 225/35 tyres the difference would be less than 2mm... Buf ofc 19" in general looks better in a pretty big car like Octavia.

245/35 Is actually what Audi recommends on the 8.5 rims. I like a little sidewall and extra protection for the rims, and It looks great, the 235’s will be slightly stretched.

The dude I bought them from had an S5 which had them stock from the  factory with 255/35, but that looks a bit too fat imo.

Heres 245/35 on 19x8.5:

Here is more pictures of my old wheels. 235/35r19 tyre setup worked well in 8.5 wide rim.

I got the wheels fitted today, 245/35 R19 all-around ET43 with 12mm spacers In the back, fitment is perfect imo. B)

Really happy!

heres a sneak-peak, excuse the dirty car :giggle:

@maxxxi@Vilho

Both looks fine and flush fit B) With 8,5" wide wheels it seems that lookswise ET around 30-35 in back and ET around 40 in front is bang on. Do you know btw if ET35 in front fits ok or not?

Maxxxi are those some kind of Audi rotors? I've thought about some 5-spoke 19" wheels next.

Maybe something like this (it's RS6 style I guess):

image.png.8047b6f3fe864e1df2f5cbacaaaa27f0.png

Or what would you think about Peelers style on Octavia? :nerd:

image.png.f6efecc5d392972d57d3d60aa0bf1f90.png

By the way @maxxxido you remember how much your Pro-Kit springs are supposed to drop combi vRS? I have Pro-Kit spring listed in the image below, so specs says it will drop 20mm / 10mm (front / back). If I remember correctly, vRS is 15mm lower than "standard" Octavia. So my setup is now actually only 35mm lower in front and 25mm lower in back. Don't know if 19" would look any better than 18" or just make it look worse without lowering it more. :wall:

@hypo

I bought my wheels secondhand, but In good condition, I think that’s the only way to go since they cost around 800€/rim from the audi shop :whew:.

Heres the exact ones:

http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/audi_alloy_wheels/s4_8k_saloon_avant_alloys/19_audi_5_arm_hollow_spoke_wheel_2177

They do make a 9” wide version of these aswell with different ET.

I would say that ET43 with 245/35 Is still ok, ET40 In the front would be pushing It.

As you can see from the pics the Rim Is already on the outside the arch, while the wheel surfice Is just on the inside, flush fitment.

So to answer your question, et35 In the front Is too much.

Choosing your wheels is a personal choice, there is no right or wrong. If you ask me i prefer black glossy rims, or gunmetal. Both of those would look good in those colors in my opinion B).

I think the spec said 10mm in the back and 20mm in the front, but thats VRS. So from standard it would be 25mm in the back and 35mm in the front.

I had the H&R sport -40mm springs before the prokit. The Eibachs looks way better, no chance of reverse rake look (rear lower than front), that was the case with the h&r’s.

And when you slam the combi too far to the ground I think It starts to look longer (little bit like a limo :biggrin:) especially with the rear further down.

19” will look better, and the 35 tyre wall will reduce wheel gap by 5mm, but increase ride height 5mm, but thats a non-issue, just more comfortable over speedbumps. Its the wheel gap that makes the car look like its on stilts.

Hope this helps on your decision.
